London Heathrow Airport
England
The sound was deafening, Vanessa though as she along with Kimberly Ashwood made their way through the crowd and towards the luggage collection area. This was her first time in England and the native accent over the speakers kept on tuging in her brain. She wasn’t sure it was baffling or amusing her. Her eyes darted over to the SD5 XO who seems to be looking unfazed by the entire clamour around her. “You,” Vanessa leaned over to the blond next to her, “know your way around right?” Her own sense of direction was the lamest, in the whole of Delta. In this busy place Collins wouldn’t have able to make a sense of where she had to go. If she was trying to get out she might end up inside the terminal again.
Kim smirked at what Vanessa was saying, “Of course,” the captain confirmed, “I know this whole place like a back of my hand.” She was coming back home after nearly fifteen years. Alot had changed since she had been last here. But the feel of coming back home hadn’t...wasn’t any different. They collected their bags and made their way out from the airport. Once out from the noise and crowds, Kim looked around for her father. Spotting the man not far from where they were, “Dad,” she greeted him cheerily and received a bear hug from him. Pulling apart she noticed his eyes gazing towards the crowd. Knew whom he was looking for, “He’s not here Dad,” she told him.
Her father’s eyes met hers, the man saw the pain his daughter was still trying to hide, “Good,” he grumbled out, “If I see him here, I swear he won’t be seeing the dawn of tomorrow. And now have you forgot your manners, young lady?” he questioned as he saw Collins standing.
Vanessa watched the reunion quietly. Something about the man didn’t sit right with her, when Kim mentioned ‘he’s not here’; Vanessa got a slight idea of whom the blond was talking about. And she fully understood when her father’s anger came out. It seemed that the Elder Ashwood was ready to beat the crap out Kim’s estrange husband.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I’m Vanessa Collins, a friend of Kim’s from US,” she informed the man as she took a step forward. This amount of information was enough to keep the man happy it seemed as he motioned for them to get into the waiting car, turning to Kim, “So plans?”
Kim grinned, “After we drop the luggage at my father’s house we hit the mall for some shopping and lunch. If it depended on Dad cooking, he would burn water.” Kim laughed fondly, as few sounds of unintelligible words from her old man hit her ears.
Vanessa smiled as she followed the two to the car and watched the view of the airport they were leaving behind.
