The phone rang and Cara went to answer. She only said a few words and return with a concerned look on her face.

Well, it seems that we will be off on our first mission. I don't have the details just yet, but all I know right now is that we are heading for Detroit, Michigan. A man was received into a hospital with gunshot wounds. Here's the red flag, identifying marks include a interesting tattoo of his forehead and an 'X' shaped incision in his stomach, and I'll give you two guess as to what that means. We don't know if this Jaffa is using Tretonin or actually has a Goa'uld larva inside still. And for those of you are lost about anything, all will be explained on the way. Our goal is to find out who this Jaffa is, where he came from, why he's here and on top, try and keep a low profile on this. We don't want too many people with too many questions.

Now, the base can have something ready for transport in an hour or so, but I think the plane I came in on has fueled by now. I think they won't mind another trip, apparently I tip really good. This meeting is adjourned, and I shall see at the plane in 20 minutes.

Mark was lost by everything Cara said, but now he had 20 minutes to get ready. He headed out of the conference room and took off to the barracks.

Mark only had a small bag with civilian clothing so he quickly changed. Once he was dressed he pulled the shoulder holster from his bag and put it on. Once that was done, he grabbed the Glock He had just picked up and slipped a 15 mag clip of teflon coated hollow points into it. Making sure there was a slug in the chamber, he slipped the safety on, and placed it into the shoulder holster. He pulled a leather jacket over the top and grabbed the 3 spare clips he carried and slipped them into his jacket pocket.

He shoved his belongings into his bag and headed towards the waiting plane.

Douglas was a light traveler, so all he had with him was a briefcase containing some personal necessities and a laptop computer.
Jaffa... Douglas tried to remember all the details he had learned about the Jaffa ever since being introduced to the Stargate program.
Putting his briefcase down on one of the seats, Douglas realized that this wasn't his typical business trip.

He spotted Doctor Coyle, the other astrophysicist on the team.

"Doctor, it's nice to meet you." Douglas said, extending his hand. "Glad to see there's another astrophysicist around."

As soon as Drake knew they were on a mission he started doing a mental check of the equipment he would need. So when he got to his room he took two prepacked suitcases and a back pack as Drake was always ready for anything that was going to be thrown at him and as this was an urban reconnaissances mission he took the prepacked things for that . In the two suit cases was various clothes, mostly suits, as well as an un-assembled MP7, along with his two side arms of a M9 and a M1911 Colt .45 Clone, then their was his lap top along with a few other technical items he might need for spying.

After taking everything he needed he was at transport with the rest of the teams. He saw one of the new team members standing there. He went up to him and Drake could tell the man was military "Name's Drake Smith" he put his hand out for the man "and you are?" Drake didn't remember everyone's name from the meeting.

Astra was really excited when Cara told them they were going on their fisrt mission together as a team. She went out to her car and grabbed her bag, then went to where their transport craft was waiting for them. The archaeologist found herself a seat after her bag was taken, she still had her smaller bag with her. She sat down and opened up some files to read while she fiddled with her necklaces to hide her anxiety about flying anywhere. Astra hated to fly and always got nervous before she flew anywhere. Butterflies were forming in her stomach at the sheer thought of their plane being in the air, and tapped her foot in time with some tune stuck in her head.

'Don't think about it,' Astra chanted to herself.

Osborn was going to read but noticed that Doctor Owen looked rather pale. Leaning in from across the aisle he gave her a small wave. "William Osborn." he extended his arm to shake her hand as he smiled in order to make an attempt to calm her.
"Doctor if you continue to tap your foot in that manner, I fear that you may burrow a hole in the hull of the craft." he stated in a joking manner.

"I find this kind of military travel rather dull. Next trip I hope we sky dive out of the rear of the plane." he smirked as sat back in his chair looking over at the doctor. Considering the plane ride was going to take some time it was better to get to know people now rather than having to sit through another brief with introductions he thought to himself. Taking a glance at the files she had infront of her he pointed at them. "Anything of interest?"

Name's Drake Smith, and you are?

Mark looked to Smith as he extended his hand. Staff Sergeant Mark Harris, sir. Good to meet you. The hand shake told Mark quite a bit. Smith was a suit. Manicured finger nails soft hands, either a paper pusher or a bean counter. Suits made Mark uncomfortable, he was used to dealing with military people. He tried to be pleasant as he introduced himself yet again. Think we should get aboard? I'd hate for them to leave without us.

Mark climbed aboard and found himself a seat in the very last row. Keeping his eyes trained towards the front he watched as the rest of the people boarded.

"Hello, Mr. Osborn, nice to meet you," Astra accepted. "Sorry, I have that darn Dr. Who theme stuck in my head at the moment, don't ask why, 'cause I have no idea."

She looked at Osborn and something clicked to her. "You're the IOA representative aren't you?" She asked him warily.

"I'd rather face a battilion of Olympians then sky dive out the back of here, Mr. Osborn," she said seriously.

Astra glanced at her file that Osborn was pointing to. "This is some catch up work that was sent to me a while ago now, I just haven't had a chance to read it. I've been busy with other stuff."

Astra paused before she started talking again. "Is this your first time with the Stargate Program?"

Drake smiled at the comment of Sir Ah to be back in the military days again he gave a soft chuckle, Drake had worked with as a Civilian for to long "You don't have to call me Sir, Staff Sergeant, I was only a Sergeant in the Army Rangers myself so don't worry I'm not a pencil pusher or a desk jockey" Drake got a pleasant smile on his face as he thought back to his days in the Rangers when his only enemy was the people on Earth. "But I think you're right we should get aboard" Marines always hard to work with with them but always needed to get a job done he thought with a chuckle, as he entered the plane taking a seat and taking his laptop out.

Drake's reassurances about not being a desk jockey made Mark feel a little better. Drake had gotten on board right behind him and taken a seat, quickly pulling out his laptop. Everyone on board seemed to be pre-occupied, so Mark got up, removed his leather jacket and tossed it on the seat next to him. The feeling of the Glock under his left arm was reassuring, and he thought about why he had not bought two when he purchased this one. Next chance he got he would get a second one and the twin shoulder holster to carry them both.

Feeling a bit more relaxed he got up and walked to where Drake sat. Leaning in he asked, What is this Stargate we spoke of? I've never heard anything about it. A General Landry and my CO came to me and said I had been selected for this unit and I was to report here. Mark noticed as he spoke Drake's eyes darted to the weapon under his arm.

"It's nice to meet you too Dr. Stark. I'm sure we'll butt heads soon enough, it's bound to happen." she shook Stark's hand and quickly caught her eye on Smith and Harris boarding, taking a seat near her. She had been waiting for Harris, ever since she heard him ask what a Stargate was back in the briefing room. "I had absolutely no idea that you had not been completely briefed about was it is you're hear for Sergeant Harris. I wasn't told that I had to brief anyone on the Stargate Program. Perhaps a joke on their part. Well... I guess I'll have to do this off the top of my head. Dr. Stark, feel free to ask any questions as well, since you're new to this as well.

In 1928, several artifacts were found in Egypt. One being a gigantic circular stone ring. With many years of research, it was discovered that the ring was actually a sort of transportation device. With the help of Dr. Daniel Jackson, who is an archeologist, we found that we are able to travel to distant worlds in our galaxy. And now, we haven't lost our minds. Aliens do exist, as well as many human populations out there. Only, we've kept the fact a huge secret, mostly likely to prevent mass hysteria among the general population on Earth. Perhaps in time they will be ready for the truth, but for now, we have to do everything possible to keep the secret of alien life beyond this planet.

Not all aliens are good out there, this Jaffa, that I mentioned back at the conference room. His kind once served, and some still do, a alien race called the Goa'uld. They are a parasitic alien that can inhabit a host against their will."

Cara paused for any questions and perhaps a little breathing room, this was a lot to take in.

Dr Coyle had come up behind Mark. Dr Coyle, as I was Telling Drake, I was assigned here less than 24 hours ago. He was hoping some sort of explanation would be forthcoming.

As Dr Coyle paused, Mark couldn't help but notice his mouth was hanging open. You're kidding, right? Aliens? Traveling to other planets? Is there a camera hidden in here? Mark was totally in awe. Dr Coyle on the other hand was very serious. I think I need to sit down. Scratching his head and trying to absorb all this info was not easy. How did they keep this under wraps all this time?

Drake was about to respond to Mark when Dr. Coyle took over and gave Mark the basic details. Got love a woman with a British Accent he thought with a smile. Then Mark asked how it was kept a secret for so long and Drake responded first "Because of people like me" he said looking Mark in the eyes "however their have been some slip ups over the years but its because of corruption or stupidity by the SGC and the NID" Drake knew when to admit to something but the SGC had screwed up as well.
"So any more questions?" Drake didn't mind answering them as the flight had just started.

"Ah. Parasitic aliens. This just makes my day." Douglas smiled. "Well, about butting heads, if you put a bunch of egotistical geniuses in a room, it's bound to happen. When I was back at NASA, I used to have arguments with my staff all he time about the most minute details of our work."

Douglas saw a Staff Sergeant sitting near him with his mouth agape, apparently surprised about this.

"Don't worry. I laughed for about twenty minutes straight when I first heard this stuff." Douglas assured him. "Anyways, anybody know more about what we're going to do when we get to Detroit?"

Looking over at the Astra he gave a slight smirk at her remark to the Dr. Who theme. He whistled a few bars and gave a nod as she followed up asking about his position with the IOA.
"Yes I am the IOA Rep here."he gave a mock frown. "Now don't take that the bad way. I am just here to make sure everyone does things by the book. Or at least thats what the IOA sent me here to do." leaning in closer he gave her a smile "I don't think it will develop like that seeing as if we follow the book...some may end up dead." sitting back he watched her ask about his involvement with the program. "I have been around for a bit. Mostly working on diplomatic missions in hostile territories. Conflict Mediation is my specialty."
Watching everyone settle down in their seats he looked at her again. "This should be an interesting mission." he smiled and buckled his seat belt.

This is real, right? I'm not being Punked? From the looks he got from everyone he knew it wasn't a joke. There really were aliens out ther in space, and he was going to be seeing them. I could really use a drink about now. And now he was off to Detroit to see an alien from space.
