Cara smiled as she viewed her new team, even though she could already see the tension lines and animosity forming between some of them. Sometimes she just could not understand the animosity between the different fractions of different agencies, civilian, NID, COA, Military. She hoped that they would all get along even though their differences, in fact, she strived for it.

”Alright, alight people, take a seat. Well get started, though there are still a few yet to arrive. It is good to see some familiar faces, and I welcome all the new ones.” as the others took a seat she remained standing denoting the fact that she was in charge of this meeting. ”Now, we’re going to start off with a bit of ice breaking. But first, a few things you ought to remember. While you are here under my authority there will be no slander of one’s another affiliation. We have people from the military, the IOA, the NID, and just plain regular civilians. But we are all on the same team here with the same common purpose. And that purpose will be a little easier to achieve if we all try and get along.

OK, enough of that. Some of you know me and some of you don’t, so I’ll just reintroduce myself. MY name is Cara Coyle and I’m from London. I have a PhD is Astrophysics that I attended at Oxford University. I did my doctorial internship at the SGC and I recently was a member of the Delta Expedition in the Delian Galaxy. I went their initially as just another young scientist trying to make her way, but I was soon promoted as Chief Scientific Advisor. I guess the experience from that made me qualified for this position.” and that was all she was going to say about herself right then, she could have told them more...but they didn’t need to know just yet.

”Alright, enough about me, who’s next? Unless someone had questions?”

Hmm... another astrophysicist.... Douglas thought. This should be interesting....

As no one had spoken up, Douglas decided that he would fill in the void of silence. He cleared his throat, giving a brief wave at everyone.

"Hello everyone. I'm Doctor Douglas Stark, and I'm also an astrophysicist. My Ph.D. is from Princeton, and I've been born and bred in the lovely Silicon Valley of California. I used to work for NASA until an unfortunate occurrence a while ago, and now I'm here. I guess I'm probably the newest to all this 'Stargate' stuff, I'd assume."

Douglas wasn't a big fan of icebreakers and socializing, as he was more of the reserved, private, type of person, as many intellectuals were, but being in a room full of people who were the best of their field, he probably wasn't alone.

As Drake was cut off from his conversation with Donnell he sat and waited for everyone else while the introductions began. Wow two astrophysicist for a Special Ops team, I just hope they have some experience with a gun or else they better not get in my way thought Drake who stood up next, he took one more look at Cara At least she is easy on the eyes he thought with a smirk on his face.

"Hi everyone I'm Drake Smith, but you can call me Mister, but not Mister Smith" he said with a stern face, he didn't like to open up to people he didn't know well "I was a Sergeant in the US Army Rangers, before attending DU in Colorado for my Double Major's in Computer Sciences and Mandarin Chinese, I then became part of the DIA working there for a few years before I found out about the Stargate and since then have been working for the NID as a intelligent specialist." He took a breath "So that's my life story pretty much" He sat down again waiting for the next person to stand up.

I really hate this meet and greet bullsh3t Mark though as he stood up. I'm Staff Sergeant Mark Harris, US Marine Corps. My training is Tactical and I served two terms in the Middle East during the Gulf War. I was selected afterwards and shipped here. Could someone tell me what the Stargate is?

At 0930 hours, tremor sensors buried under the ground surrounding Cheyenne Mountain detected foot steps; a party of eight was moving along the perimeter of Stargate Command. As the on duty supervisor, SSA Charlie Vasquez was in the situation room, and was tasked with dealing with the thread. Walking between the rows of decks, at which analysts and intelligence personnel were working, he watched the monitors that plastered the walls of the room. With a similar designed to mission control at NASA, the situation room allowed the Dept of Homeworld to located, monitor and deal with threats on all corners of the globe, even ones less than a hundred kilometers away.

An AC-130 gunship was scrambled from Peterson, and SGC security personnel used the intricate series of tunnels surrounding the SGC to move to the surface and surround the group of combatants. The situation was tense; Charlie himself could feel sweat accumulating on his forehead. A UAV was moving it to the make one final pass of the area to confirm enemy intentions, upon which either the security teams would move in, or the AC-130 would target their position from the air. The UAV came into range, made a single sweep of the group, and transmitted it's images to the monitors all over the room.

It was a group of Boy Scouts. Not terrorists, not Jaffa, not enemies of any form. Charlie would later find out they'd been out hiking when their compasses had been thrown out by the electromagnetic generators used to mask the activation of the Stargate. Breathing a sign of relief, Charlie signed over responsibility of the situation room to their next officer, and made his way toward the DHS conference room.

Entering into the room, Vasquez strode to the head of the room, shaking hands with Cara and introducing himself, before turning to the crowd assembled. "Sorry for the delay, we almost had a situation at Cheyenne, and as such I've been on the phone to the Director of Homeworld, Homeland, NSA, NID and CIA. Hell, the only director I haven't spoken to this morning is Spielberg..."

Turning towards Shasta Byron smiled. “Second Lieutenant Byron Travers nice to meet you Shasta.” Byron replied. Byron spotted Sean in the room and walked over towards him. “Hey Sean long time no see buddy how you been? Looks like we’ll be working together again hey.” Byron asked Sean. Byron hadn’t seen anyone from the academy since he graduated and it was nice to be reunited with old teammates. Byron turned towards Cara who started talking once again and explained that they would be introducing themselves first before any real discussion on Homeworld though Byron wasn’t complaining much. Byron listened to the first few people as they each explain who they where and a little bit about themselves and since no one else had talked in a bit Byron decided to bite the bullet. “Hi I’m Second Lieutenant Byron Travers from Las Vegas Nevada. I spent four years at the Stargate Academy before graduating and being shipped out to Stargate Command for a bit then I was shipped out to the Delta Site and returned here for this assignment looking forward to working with everyone here.” Byron explained as he finished his introduction. Looking around the room Byron waited for someone else to speak when another man walked into the room. "Yeah Spielberg will have a field day out of the Stargate Program." Byron laughed as he listened to Charlie.

Osborn had noticed the tension in the room once everyone had begun looking at one another for the first time. For Osborn the concept of an international team to investigate security threats to the planet was important but he was not sure if their current leader could carry the burden of such a task. Hoping that she was ready for the task he looked at her and gave a nod. "William Osborn, I am here representing the IOA. As a result of my nearly 20 years experience in Her Majesty's Royal Marines,under the search and rescue brigade, I was picked for this assignment as I am the most likely to get along with the rest of you." He let a slight smile escape as he found that to be funny then he grew stern once more. "Much like the NID in the past, the IOA has had a rocky relationship with the administration of the the SGC. The IOA as it is comprised of various Nations has a very strict view of how the program should be run. I am not of that mind set."placing his elbows on the table for a moment he scanned over the others in the room. "In order to assure the security of this planet, laws should be made and followed, but constructed with enough flexibility as to not bind the hands of those who are here to protect our way of life." with that he sat back in his chair fixing his maroon tie.

When it came to Donnell, he spoke right up clearly and concisely, "Name's Donnell Farley, the tech dude. I'm a civilian sector private contractor. I came from the Delta Site, and I'm here to do the same thing y'all are." Plain and simply, not making a big speech out of an introduction, he didn't have quite as much to say as the others did. He was perhaps the youngest out of everyone present. As the introduction went around the conference table, Farley jotted notes that were important to him and kept up with everything said. Unlike someone else's quickly scratched notes most likely unreadable to others, any English reader could interpret Donnell's notes.

Douglas listened to the rest of the men and women at the table, picking out the details of their introductions. Agent Smith apparently knew Chinese too, and Douglas wondered whether Smith's skills would surpass his of the language.

我不懂中文!* Douglas visualized himself saying. The thought brought a smile to his face.

As several other men spoke, a man with black hair named Osborn introduced himself as a member of the IOA. Douglas had been briefly told about the IOA since the Stargate Program was revealed to him, but he didn't know too much about them. The Air Force personnel all had somewhat negative impressions of the organization, but alas, Douglas had to see for himself.

"Mister Osborn, can you tell me a bit more about the IOA? I've only been newly introduced to the Stargate program, so I'd like to have a bit more insight." Douglas said. He cleared his throat, waiting for Osborn to respond.

Astra listened carefully to the other people introducing themselves, and was surprised how many different factions there were in the room.

"My name is Dr. Astra Owen, and I'm a civillian doctor of archaeology and language. I'm originally from Canberra in Australia, but I went to a university in New York where I graduated. I worked there for a while as an assistant and researcher for one of my old Professors. I got into the Stargate Program when I was contacted by Stargate representatives asking me to come and join the Program after they heard about my published work on Egyptian culture. I started off at the SGC working with Dr. Jackson for a few years, and then was given the opportunity to go on the Delta expedition, and now I'm back here ready to start on a new chapter of my life," Astra introduced herself.

Looking over at the man who spoke to him, Osborn gave a slight nod then looked at Dr. Owen speak. Once she was done he leaned over to Stark and spoke to the man in a low tone of voice. "Some other time would probably be better to answer your questions but in short we are the United Nations Oversight entity for the Stargate Program." He would leave it at that as he did not want to disrupt the current flow of the meeting with side conversations. The IOA did more than what he was leading on about. Quietly he sat back in his chair and continued to observe the other members of the team in the room.

Jacek was ushered into the room looking mighty confused and lost, when he walked in the room probably didn't really notice until the closed the door. Rather loudly to get the attention of the room but no on purpose. When the eyes went from each other all onto him he smiled quickly but it was a warm smile.

"Uh Hi! I was told this is where we were meeting but I got lost before for about an hour, I came early to only be late." He laughed then stopped. "So yeah my name is Dr. Jacek Quirin, I am a Historian. My expertise you could say is in myths but I am really a Jacek of all trades... Get it?" He waited a moment the dismissed the joke. "I was stationed at the Delta Site for a little bit but I felt I would be more useful else where and here I am. But enough about me... Lets talk business?" He smiled again.

“Second Lieutenant Byron Travers nice to meet you Shasta.”
"Nice to meet you too." she replied as he went off and Shasta was all alone. The meeting started and everyone introduced themselves. Shasta wasn't really good at giving a 6 sentence auto-biography, but she managed to think of one. Once Jacek sat down, Shasta got up and introduced herself.
"Not so fast there" Shasta said to Jacek as she went on, "I'm Shasta Alexander, but I also go by Shazzy. I'm a Teneesse native, and I served in Afghanistan and Iraq. I joined Stargate Command at the age of 27 still in the military, and I was a damn good member of SG-12" she trailed off before snapping back into reality and finishing her speech "But I was put on honorable discharge after I was caught in an explosion, and now I'm a civillian Senior Field Agent." she finished as she took her seat.

Cara was glad for this, hearing a bit about them, from them, was more than she could get out of the pieces of paper bundled in folders could. Like the fact that she didn't know that one person in particular didn't know what the Stargate was. If fact she was prepared to go into explanation mode, when the phone rang over by the wall. She wondered who would be bothering them as she walked over, with her heels clicking against the hard floor, to the phone and answered it with her name, identifying herself as the one answering. She listened intently, often answering with a 'yes sir,' 'I understand' and 'really, that's interesting.' Finally she got off the phone and turned to her team.

"Well, it seems that we will be off on our first mission. I don't have the details just yet, but all I know right now is that we are heading for Detroit, Michigan. A man was received into a hospital with gunshot wounds. Here's the red flag, identifying marks include a interesting tattoo of his forehead and an 'X' shaped incision in his stomach, and I'll give you two guess as to what that means. We don't know if this Jaffa is using Tretonin or actually has a Goa'uld larva inside still. And for those of you are lost about anything, all will be explained on the way. Our goal is to find out who this Jaffa is, where he came from, why he's here and on top, try and keep a low profile on this. We don't want too many people with too many questions.

"Now, the base can have something ready for transport in an hour or so, but I think the plane I came in on has fueled by now. I think they won't mind another trip, apparently I tip really good. This meeting is adjourned, and I shall see at the plane in 20 minutes."

Cara motioned for them to leave and left herself. She went to her room to gather one of her bags. " Good thing I haven't unpacked yet." she said to herself as she went to see about hiring the privet plane once again.

The meeting would be over quickly after Doctor Coyle got the phone call. Watching her leave he gave a nod and stood up as she stepped out. "It begins." he said in a low tone as he waited for some to leave the room then followed out. The news of the Jaffa with an X symbol on his head could only mean a Apophis Temple Priest or one of Muto's Jaffa. As those were the symbols he had encountered in the past he could only imagine that if it was neither then a new group had taken shape on Earth. Theories aside he would have to get his belongings from the Jaguar in the parking garage.

Looking inside of the trunk of the XKR he pulled out a Royal blue, carry on size suit case. Checking the items inside, he removed the Sig 229 pistol and placed it in the paddle holster along his hip inside he jacket. Twin spare magazines were kept on the opposite side of his weapon for easy access. Closing the case he moved it out of the trunk then locked the vehicle as he headed to the air strip.

Having spoken to the crew of the plane for a moment he placed his baggage away and took a seat in a vacant chair. The IOA would be most interested in what a Jaffa was doing in the middle of the United States but not for the right reasons he thought to himself. An unregistered Jaffa in the United States could constitute a breach in global security in turn giving the IOA more ammunition against the programs control by the United States Government. In his mind the first thing they needed to find out was how and why was the Jaffa here. Then he would worry about what he would report to the IOA.
