Katrina’s Quarters
Saying Katrina Logan was through hell and back is an understatement. After being taken prisoner and turned into what she liked to be called a monster, things changed both physically and mentally. Physically, she received a nice long scar down her mid back from the whippings and torture but they were healed over leaving a line to remind her every day of the experiences that have made her stronger and more determined to become a fighter of life and love.
Mentally, struggles with people and connecting with those she deeply cared about was becoming more bearable as the days progressed. But one person in particular weighed heavily on the medical officer’s mind. Since being placed on the same team as Lieutenant Colonel Walker, Katrina always felt drawn to him. Age difference wasn’t a factor and her feelings were already going in a direction way beyond Stargate protocols. But when two people find one another and develop something unbreakable, protocols become just hurdles to overcome and bypass.
His requisite to be placed away from her only solidified that General Kepler was aware of their situation. She feared for his career more than her own and when it was decided to place him on a ship somewhere in space and her on another team, it was reluctantly taken as a step in a positive direction.
After her safe recovery back from being a prior, Kat didn’t feel the same connection she once had with the love of her life. She felt he was being precautious and lately maybe too precautious, maybe even doubtful that they could salvage anything they once possessed. One of those prized possession was of the material kind, her engagement ring. It had been taken from the Olympians and put on the black market. Logan only assumed it was lost forever. Robert never mentioned it, maybe holding back so as not to erupt any misconceptions or ill feelings. Katrina already felt lost without it around her neck (where it usually hung) and never brought it up herself. Her mind now believed he was going to come and tell her they were no longer meant to be.
Sitting at her desk, the young woman stroked a brush through her hair just wondering what it was that was so important. She received a message from another officer that Walker needed to speak with her in private. Kat already knew it was going to be something of great magnitude. Just how much it would change their lives was a mystery. She didn’t want to lose him. She never loved anyone as much as she did him and if it was his choice to back away and end this, Katrina had no choice but bow to his will.
