Season Three Premier: Resurrection (Part I)

With the three men seated at the low table, Chris began his presentation for Jerry and Troy. Just as Commander Garcia had pointed out, the best minds on Earth were working on this problem, and despite friendly rivalry and funding concerns, the Colonel was more than sure that this expedition was just as capable - if not more so - than the SGC or the expeditions to the Pegasus and Ida galaxies. That was exactly where General Kepler was right now, back on Earth trying to secure enough money just to keep the lights on. Although he'd been keeping tight lipped about his concerns that the expedition wouldn't get funded for another year without a big find, Troy knew the rumors were getting around. Hopefully this would be their big break.

Chris went on to explain about the different dialects and languages being found at the dig, including a code of sorts that had been left behind by the Ancients. It was known that this outpost had been a listening base designed to monitor the Olympians and halt any attempt they made to invade Earth, but the reasons for it's abandonment were still unexplained. The honest truth was the expedition still knew so little about this city-ship despite having called it home for over six months. Chris paused mid sentence as if his mind had somehow figured out the secret code, and he asked for a sheet of paper which Jerry quickly passed to him.

As Doctor Hatfield started to scribble on the sheet of paper, Major Leah entered the office. Despite having come and gone from the expedition a number of time due to personal reasons he was still much respected, and with the current roster changes he'd be more than needed on an off-world team. "Take a seat Major," Troy said, "I think Doctor Hatfield has just had a revelation about an Ancient code he's uncovered."

Kale still sorting out a couple of things that had to be done with the Comms system when he heard a familiar voice saying “Hey Ash, I'm about to have a break from paper pushing duty. Wanna join me?” Kale looked up and noticed his old team mate Tim from SD-5 looking in the door "Sure, come in while I finish up"

Kale watched as Tim took a step inside and waved a brown paper bag in his left hand, “I've got some Danish... Just out of the oven... I'm afraid coffee will be from the machine down the hall though. Come on, you need to get out of here.” Tim was right as he has been in his Office for too long. Kale watched as Tim sat down in the chair on the opposite side and on the other side of the desk and said "Mmmm, those smell great" as he looked at the the bag in Tim's hand "I now wish I did get that coffee machine when I had the chance" Kale thought to himself .

“We could go over to the dig site and watch the some of the not-so-lucky-ones do some hard labor?” Kale thought for a second or two and replied "Maybe we could do that I think Pooja is there so maybe we could have a little bit on fun" Grinning as he said that.

Kale was just finishing up what he was doing and stood up from his chair and was thinking about saying 'alright let's go' when Colonel Walker walked in and said “Sorry to interrupt, Tim, Ash … I was in the neighborhood and thought I would stop by. Ash, could you get me a copy of the transcript between the Folian and Woqan ambassadors when you get the chance?” Kale thought to himself "hmm, looks like something important is coming about" Kale knew which report the Colonel was talking about and did have his hands on it the other day. "Sure, Sir I have it in my to be filed pile just hold on while I get it" Kale replied as he started to go through a short pile of files on his desk after a minute or so Kale pulled the file out and walked around his desk and handed the file to the Colonel "Here is the file you requested Sir is there any others you need while you are here" Kale was happy and relieved that the file was handy and now he was out from behind that Desk.

"right now, Lt Tyler, that kid is special and maybe Lt Munroe, she has an attitude problem that we ned to adjust, other than that she is a fine pilot. So far those are the only two that show any kind of promise. . . . if you don't mind sir I would like to get ready for the show."

Nolen nodded to the others as the new pilots ran to their stations. He then turned back and listened to Robert explain their two candidates for the Squad leaders. He took special note of their names so he could recall them later. And wrote them down to keep an eye on them. He then turned back to Robert, "Okay Scarecrow go teach them something" he said with a smile wishing he could join him. It had been a while since he last was in the cockpit of a fighter and he was starting to miss it.

After Cromin left Nolen headed towards the control room and sat down in a spare seat near the computer terminals. "Lieutenant can you give me the feed from Cromin, Tyler and Munroe and stream it through my laptop here." he asked and with in minutes he saw the three pilots in their cockpits doing their set procedures and awaiting the simulation to start. Nolen grabbed the Mic and covered it smiling at the Lieutenant. "Lets give them a more realistic simulation. " He then uncovered the mic and played some background noises he had recorded over the last couple of months, then spoke in to it. "All pilots to your fighters, We are under attack. This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill. Blue flight, Black Flight you are go to launch" he said in to the mic. He smiled as the simulation started and sat down to watch the show.

“Hey, Marah, what bring you to my door?” seeing the coffee in her hands, “Never can have too much coffee.” she agreed as she placed some files on another side of the desk, and switched off the monitor before facing Law again.

“I thought you be bugging, Pooja by now? Seeing she may not be glued to her husband’s side.” Sipping the coffee the Agent brought her, the Base Psychologist chuckled, “So what can I do for you? Keep you company or give you a session?”

Marah smiled at Vanessa sitting at her table. "Just running out of friends to annoy thats all" she said coming in to place the coffee down on her desk. She cupped hers in her hand after placing Vanessa's and sat down in a nearby seat. She took a sip then replied to Vanessa, "Would be but she's out there doing her science stuff and really I don't like annoying her while she is doing that, Mainly because she can bore me with all the mumble jumble she comes up with" she said with a smile. She looked at Vanessa, "I really don't need anything other than to annoy someone, and your it today" she said with a small chuckle. "So what you up too?"

Zarlenka sat there alone in the cities mess hall sipping on some coffee and snacking on a chicken sandwich. He had only been back a few days after the big battles that almost destroyed the Olympians and was able to get back to help out with the understaff expedition with the wounded from them. It had been a while since he was last here in the Delian Galaxy but had never actually set foot in this city, many of his former friends were back on earth or gone. Yet the one friend he really wanted to find was nowhere to be found. Travis, Zarlenka's former Team leader, was a man that no one seam to know where he was and this had lead Z here to recharge his batteries so that he could get on with his work and maybe even catch T somewhere.

Coffee and Break.

Two words joined as one sounded too good to him, Oxford mused. In fact that could be a factor, for his procrastinating to grab the large mug of the dark liquid from the machine before him and empty china in his hand. Looking between the two he sighed. He needed his dose, but he already had his fifth cup sometime back. Another cup or two might as well be bouncing off the wall soon enough. Taking a glance at the machine he swore he heard the thing pout. Sensing that he might lose what was left of his sanity he poured. If that damn thing was living things, Travis was sure he would be getting a gleeful look from it; which would end up having the entire mess hall giving him odd expressions. They in fact would vary; from person to person.

Turing he face the door and saw one person, just one person he hadn’t seen on Delta in a while to enter, Zarlenka Kirov, his onetime former team member. Speaking of old facing returning, word around the base was the even the former SD4 Commanding Officer, Alavair Leah was back. It was kinda surprising that he hadn’t yet been transferred off the team. Two Majors; one team Command equalled awkward interaction. He hadn’t spoken much to Leah since the man handed SD4 to him. Shaking his thoughts to clear, he moved to greet Kirov, “Got bored back at home?” he grinned as he took a sip of his dark liquid drug, commonly called coffee.

“You haven’t run into Doctor Garcia have you?” he darted his eyes around for the raven haired woman to see if she was in sight.

"It's the name of a city in Iraq that my mother spent a good amount of time in during college. She is an archaeologist," Marra explained, taking a brief sip of coffee. "It is a shortened form of an Arabic phrase meaning 'A joy for all who see'." It had been a while since she had spoken of her mother. For a brief moment, she wondered how her mother was doing...what her mother was doing. And her father too. Granted, she had more of an idea on his whereabouts. Last he heard, he was XO of SG-4 back at the SGC. Then again, last time their paths crossed was about a year ago. A lot had happened since then. She wondered briefly what he knew...

Marra listened with interest as Fiala spoke of her daughter, watching the expressiveness with which she told the story. It was true, Marra never had kids. And, even with advanced medicine, she felt her biological clock was ticking. Granted, in order to have kids, she needed a man...and a man was hard to come by in another galaxy. Marra wasn't about to pry into the woman's personal life, but she was curious about one thing. And honestly, through her inexperience, she knew that there was no way she could comprehend. "Is it difficult? I mean, being away from her for so long...does she stay with your family?"

At her teasing, Marra grinned.

"You can try, but there's a certain Brit who is dead set on keeping an eye on me after recent events." She wasn't sure how much Fiala knew about her POW status in the Ida Galaxy, and honestly didn't feel like going into much detail, but she would paint a vague enough picture. "Major O'Malley has it in his head that if I am put to work that I'll fall over into a coma or have some sort of meltdown. I want to help out there with the excavation, but I do what I am assigned." She rolled her eyes, but smirked and sipped some more of her coffee. It was growing lukewarm.

The last part of what the woman said, Marra didn't catch. It might have been her accent or the way she worded it, or a bit of both. However, she smiled and lifted her cup slightly.

"I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean...only on my first cup of coffee, you know."

Still leaning on the spade Calmara merely listened and observed. As he’d pointed out this was completely out of his area of expertise. So this was all he could do.

It was also hard to know if Dr Mckillop had taken his suggestion or observation on board. He looked on as he worked carefully, interested as to the processes, of how the ‘history doctor’s’ gathered their finds and interpreted them.

From the way Mckillop was talking, he sounded like he was still part way through the process throwing out random theories, speculating about the olympians, titans and their relationship with each other. The air force engineer had heard the name ‘titans’ were being banded about very recently. If he remembered rightly they were thought to be enemies of the olyimpians. But only traces of them were now visible buried in the dirt apparently, then again so was the stargate and look where it had brought them. He peered over at the piece that was being uncovered. It looked well he didn’t know how. Time to ask. “What do we have here? Any markings that are of use Doc? ”


Noticing another ‘history doctor’ lurking near by whose name escaped him at that point in time. As usual he had looked up all of the people he would be working with. It was a habit he’d picked up from way back when he’d made senior airman, and started taking a hand in training on ‘choppers’. He waved her over and took a stab at her name “Doctor Jarsveld is it, come have a look at this see what you think, we could use a second or third opinion ?” He went back to leaning on the spade and watching proceedings.

“You want to get in have a closer look ma’am?”

She heard what James said but shook her head, she happy to watch the piece of pottery getting unearth of from where she stood, “I’ll see it after Kent examines it and its logged in the books. I’m a history buff and all.” If she stepped on something she wasn't meant to Kent was likely to be on her tail.

She listened to what Kent was explaining her brows frowned in thought as she tried to make some sense of the whole thing, when something came to mind she spoke up, “The Ancients could have this planet their this galaxy headquarters. The chances are that they could have seen the Olympians for what they were; had the two races clashed in the battle.”

For a man who smelled of malt while working, the care he took to expose the hidden object surprised her, she wasn’t sure why, amused she let it, be. As more soil was removed the bright colours from the find began to show, the design and pattern that was beginning to show was, indescribable. Nothing like it she had seen on Earth. Something like this in fact couldn’t be found on Earth,

"So, assuming we have two cultures present in this site and one is Olympian, does this mean the theory of the Titans is reality?" Kent continued the clean the vase, and watched as colors and patterns hidden by layers of soil began to become more visible. "Do we even have data confirming they existed at the same time?"

Her attention from the pottery was cut short by Kent’s question and pondered, “Why couldn’t it be? So far Egyptian mythology has been proved to be real in from of Gou’ald, even the Chinese mythology to some extent in the Milky Way. Pegasus, you got something crossed between bugs and vampires,” she gave a shudder at the thought alone. If she ever saw one, it be years before she was able to find some decent amount of sleep.

“Here, we are finding traces of Greek/Roman mythology. I get confused between the two since they both are similar in some aspects. If all this could exist, then why not the Titans?” then pondered over if somewhere out there was a galaxy with the Hindu Mythology being played out.

“I have no clue if we have any data, I haven’t had the chance to read through piles and piles of records.” she told him, “Honey or Zara are your best bets for this.”

Her head turned when James beckoned Zara over, grinning she joined the beckoning too. Pooja hadn’t seen Zara since her wedding to Jerry back in India. It would be great to catch up with the woman again.

Vanessa hooted with laughter, “My list of chasing people keeps getting longer. There’s no end in sight I’m afraid.” She gave Law an innocent look, as the woman sat down, “just one of the joys of being base shrink.” Yea running after big strong men who looked like Terminators, was her idea of fun, who knew it was enjoyable.

But the reward of seeing the person healing or at least find a way to live with what happened was what she wanted to see. It was what she was working at Delta for. Sure people thought of her as an insane, scary, unreasonable and sadistic shirk, but she had her perks when she wanted.

Shocked a little, at what Marah said, “Wait, let me get this right, Pooja is out there in the field as opposed to being glued to her husband’s side?” That was something new to hear, “wow.” Then laughed before looking at Law, “since her line of work and mine are pretty much similar, I’m surprised I haven’t bored anyone yet.”

Tilting her head, Collins blinked, “You have list of people to annoy?” placing her hand on her head, “I’m so glad that you found some time to come and annoy me. You aren’t here to go all NID on me, are you?”

“I was about to read the list of people I have to chase into this office. I’m thinking I’ll use a poking stick as a weapon. It might be better than a zat or a P-90.”

Tim raised a brow, “And get the big Garcia on our tail?” He chuckled as he pictured their long time CO hunting Ash down the obstacle course with a hot poker in his hand, “Even though tempting, I doubt it's good for team spi...”

A voice behind his back, 'LtC Waker!' and Tim scrambled up from his chair to stand in attention, mumbling, “No problem Sir,” 'high ranking officers' and by now 'quite a few years in service'-habits died hard.

He watched quietly as Ash moved around the table, taking notice of the way his friend moved. 'Better, not 100% but definitely better. Bet a day behind a desk makes will do that for you, he'll probably get better once he gets outside this office.'

Kat stood at the front of Troy’s office lightly touching the steel knob. She was only a major and the attendees were all higher officers. The medical officer felt her presence might just be a distraction since the relationship with Robert was becoming official. It made things tense. She had become more involved in trying to make this relationship work, but still had doubts. Her sessions with Vanessa were progressing and the relationship between her and Marcus was blossoming into a deeper friendship. She knew Ash was in his office but he was the first one to greet her after coming back from being a prior. They spent hours in her room talking and it made her feel their relationship was also becoming stronger. Jerry was definitely in there and they already had a close relationship. All those she deeply cared for were probably in that room. Going inside would probably be good for her emotionally, but with this upcoming mission, would it become a focus on something it shouldn’t?

Her hand moved away from the knob, then back to the door. Do I or don’t I? kept reeling around through the major’s head. Another presence may give more input, then again, her presence may be something they didn’t need. She was caught in a “catch 22” so to speak. Again, her fingers delicately wrapped around the handle. ”Just do it and be done with it Kat. If anything you need to know what’s going on” she said softly opening the door.

Everyone inside were busy talking amongst themselves sharing information and paperwork. Quietly, the medical officer eyed a chair near the back, somewhere she could just sit and observe. If they needed her input, she would provide it to the best of her ability. If she was asked to leave, then that would be done without question. She still felt like she was walking on eggshells. Part of that prior instinct still remained even if it was tucked deeply within the subconscious. But, it was still there, maybe to remain permanently. Would that be a threat in future missions? Probably, but the old Kat was still there but different. A stronger, more determined woman arose from all the atrocities she faced in the recent past. Would she finally be able to move on? Hopefully, but the presence of dear friends was the only thing she was relying on at the moment.

”Good morning sirs” she announced with a salute to Troy. ”If you need anything from me, I’ll be sitting over there. If this is inappropriate for me to be in here at this time, I’ll gladly make my way to wherever I’m needed most sir.”

Taking her seat, she nodded with a gentle smile to those who recognized her presence. She carried a leather bound case containing information for medical reasons and a notepad with pen for notes. Kat set that quietly on her lap crossing her hands intertwining her fingers over the case and waited.

Captain Cromin got into his 302 simulator and began to go through his checklist. "Command this is 325th Ghost Leader here, engine - check, weapons - check, thrusters - check, all systems are go on my end, do you copy that, over?" Command responded saying "We copy, over, all systems are go on our end, God speed Ghost leader" and with that Cromin gave a thumbs up to Nolen and then put his head gear on and spoke to the squad "Alright ladies, it seems we have 6 unidentified bogeys hell bent on destroying our command center, we cannot let that happen. If we fail then we lose the command center. We are the last line of defense, that means we are all they have. Now Lt Tyler will be my XO on this mission, he will be in charge of Black Squardron, munroe, Price and Casey, you are with me, the rest of you are with Tyler. Tyler you follow my lead, go after Bogeys's 4, 5 and 6 and we will get the rest. Feel free to assist if you take out yours before we do. Alright lets go, I formation, I will take point, split up into Squadron formation after the first shot from anyside, God speed, no heroics people."


After he said that they all took off into space and got into formation and not long after that Captain Cromin was shot down and he pulled out of the sim laughing. This was the surprise he had planed for them. He wanted to see their abilities but mostly he wanted to see Tyler and munroe lead. He got out of the simulator and went in to sit next to Nolen laughing because of what he just did.

As they all waited for Chris to finish what he was doing, Jerry caught movement at the door to the office. Kat Logan entered the room a snapped a salute in Troys' direction then took a seat at the back of the room. She seemed a bit unnerved as she sat down , so Jerry walked over to her. Hi Kat, good to see you. How you been? Jerry spoke softly so as not to disturb the other conversations in the room.

Kat looked up to see Jerry. He had that smile that melted her heart. It was the same smile he always had when he knew something wasn’t right. Garcia could read Logan like a book. He was a brother in Kat’s heart, one that she would immediately place her life in front of to save. Heck, half the darn expedition team would get the same treatment. But there were those select few that were true family, ones that were brothers and sisters regardless of parental differences. Those were the ones that could make her open up, give her the support she needed, and be the guiding light when the way seemed hopeless.

Hi Kat, good to see you. How you been?

The smile faded but not completely. More concern creased the brow and her voice remained soft so others couldn’t hear. ”I’m not sure any more Jerry. I suppose you heard the news.” Maybe he had and maybe he hadn’t but news of romance usually swarmed anywhere like a bees to a hive. Kat was worried about Walker’s career. He was taking a huge chance on making it difficult on himself. This isn’t what she wanted, but they couldn’t keep sneaking around like nothing was going on. That was stressful enough. But what if they decided later on that it was over? He would have sacrificed so much and Kat wouldn’t be able to live with herself. They just started trying to become the couple they once were, but road blocks were still present. The now missing engagement never came up in conversation. Kat assumed they were no longer engaged. Even though he knew how it was taken away by the Olympians and probably sold on the black market, she still felt the pain of it not being on her finger or around her neck (on missions). ”I just hope we’re doing the right thing. You know, making it official and all. I don’t want him to suffer or get transferred or demoted. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.”

Her eyes went to the notepad and pen lying on her lap. The medical officer fought away the tears. This wasn’t the place. She was hoping to avoid this, but Jerry just had a way of pulling information out of people even if it was accidental. ”What if we don’t work out? I’m not even sure he wants to marry me anymore. I’m just scared I guess.” All she wanted to do was sit cuddled in his arms like a big brother would do with his sister. But, professionalism and protocol and all that bull had to remain.

Her eyes diverted up to Troy and Chris who still seemed quite engaged into their conversation. Alavair was there listening. Maybe a change of subject would help. ”What’s up with those two? You’d think they’ve discovered the Lost City of Atlantis. Oh wait, we’ve already done that one” she ended with a poorly attempted giggle.
