Stargate Command - Delta Site
Gate Room
In a bare room there was only silence. All around walls of concrete and metal seem devoid of a human's touch, bathed in bland colors of nothing special. Except that this was a very special room - perhaps the most special room throughout the whole complex. It was the gate room that served the men and women of the Stargate Delta operation, the only difference form the gate room on earth and the one here was that Delta's was extremely quiet this day. There were no klaxon's blaring to warn of imminent danger, no crew checking the gate's integrity, no soldiers on patrol. Only silence. Utter silence.
Then, in one quick moment things change, a blinding light erupted in the middle of the room, just before the foot of the ramp that led to the gate. The multicolored light seemed to be streaming from the very ceiling itself, which shouldn't have been possible. But, there was no doubt that the light was real. Suddenly, the klaxon's began to blare, a team of fully armed soldiers suddenly rush into the room from one of the heavily armored and dense metallic doors that slowly rumbles shut on either side. They formed a cone around the light, M-16's raised and leveled, safety's off.
The light began to dim and a figure slowly cut through the fog, standing in the center. When the light finally died and a man of medium height stood there, donned in Air Force dress blues, medals and ribbons strapped to his chest, rucksack, duffle bag and laptop case lay near his feet. Beneath his right arm, a thick tan folder. Upon his face a blank stare that suddenly turns into one of confusion and worry. Oh, nuts! What did I step into?! The inner voice of the man cried. "Uh...hello...?" Came his sheepish voice, a small smile etched across his otherwise confused face. Clarity and recognition crossed the black man's visage as he announced himself, rank and all, "Senior Airman, Mathias Campbell, transfered from SGC via the BC-304 Illiad, reporting as order, sir!" He barked, his expression quickly becoming stony. When inwardly his mind ran rampant with what in the world he had just beamed himself into, hadn't anyone sent any sort of invite ahead? Didn't anyone know he would be arriving today?
He stood there, immediately stoic in the face of several dozen rifles all pointed at his head and chest and what he knew were with their safety's off. Casually he began to run his free hand down his military dress blues, creasing out the nonexistent wrinkles on his service coat. His left hand (the free hand) slid over his medals that were placed upon his chest; a purple heart and bronze star. As well as his ribbons he attained from his spectacular performance in the Army boot and Infantry AIT, as well as his brief stint with the Army as a whole. immediately his eyes fell to the medals and ribbons, memories of his time as an infantryman and service in Iraq flooding back to mind. For a moment, his eyes looked as if they would water over as he thought about all his dead friends, but that moment passed as he quickly regained his composure, sighing once more.
There he stood waiting for further instruction or a greeting from anyone. He seemed relatively at ease and hid his astonishment well especially in the face of his immediate death. Which he knew wouldn't come by mere glance at the wall behind the soldiers. There behind the thick glance sat the personnel of SGD, busily working at their various stations and several people apparently eying him at that very moment. For whatever reason, the reckless SA became heartened and comforted to know - or at least he thought, he was in the right place.

[OOC note to future members who use this thread. Not everyone has to have a dramatic entry like mine, most should just walk through the gate. But since, there isn't enough power to gate form Earth to Delta Site (during my time when posting) I decided to add some extra flair. Mostly, I went off of what the Gate Room looks like from the SG-1 series. Hope ya'll like it!]
