Parkour Competition {Kana, Xeern, Cira}

In her Army fatigues, Cira wandered down the halls of the SGC, headed towards the training room from the Mess Hall, bored out of her mind. She had a bit of leave time and she was pondering driving out of the area for a while for a Parkour run rather than using the boring gym, which she'd used a fair bit of already since she returned from the USS Iliad. ~This place ain't so bad.~ she thought as she took a couple swigs from the last of her Coca Cola. ~But maybe I'll still get out of here while I can.~

She proceeded to head towards the gym, see who else might be there, and if they didn't mind her running around a bit. Jogging in, she saw one man wearing a black jumpsuit seemed to be jumping around, and that made her a bit curious. As she jogged in, Cira ran accelerated towards the left wall. 'Running up' it, she moved up a bit higher than her own height, about six feet, and kicked off the wall into a diagonal clockwise flip before landing softly on her feet. "Yo, mind if I join ya? Don't need much equipment really." she greeted, tucking her hands in her pockets for a moment as she glanced around.

"Yo, mind if I join ya? Don't need much equipment really."[/b]

Kana had been in the midst of a jump when a female voice spoke up. Smoothly he pushed himself off the wall and leaned back, preforming a sort of back flip before tucking himself in to a ball as he hit the ground, rolled a little bit and jumped back up to his feet, arms at his sides.

He looked at the young lady, studying her for several moments. To him it was a little odd that she had singled him out. Ever since arriving on the Tau'ri home world Kana had more or less been left to his own devices...so long as they were on the base, his current residence.

While he wasn't under arrest or anything; given the fact that he wasn't from Earth, the only place he could stay was on the base, unless of course he took the next ship back to the Delian Galaxy.
"Who are you?" Kana asked in a harsher tone than he intended. He didn't like surprises and this to him was a bit surprising.

Opening his eyes Xeern looked around, he had been spending his time at the Tau’Ri homeworld for quiet some time. Xeern had been talking with a General Landry about a possible alliance with the humans of this world though it were only talks at this stage but Xeern believed that they were going well in any case it stopped the guards from following Xeern as his people. Pressing the button on the panel he opened the door of the Captain’s quarters. His ship was currently in high orbit above Earth. Earth was smaller than Forgha his homeworld but the wonders he saw from Earth was just amazing. Xeern made his way towards the transporter room, nodding to the transporter chief he watched as his body was engulfed in a bright green light before he disappeared completely.

1600 Hours

Xeern appeared in the gate room of Stargate Command, he looked around and heard General Landry explain to the guards to stand down. Relaxing a bit Xeern nodded to the guy he hadn’t had the chance to look around the base yet. It didn’t take Xeern long to find where everything was located within the base until however he came across a strange room labeled gym. Xeern had no idea what this gym room could mean but he gathered that he was about to find out. Stepping inside he looked around and spotted a couple of people talking but he hadn’t found out exactly what went on in this room.

Cira surveyed Kana's figure for a moment, quickly noting the tone of his voice. It seemed to her he might just be in a serious mode- it didn't look like he wanted her out. She then sensed another man enter the room via peripheral vision."Name's Cira Knight. An' who're you two?" she asked, referring to both of them before stepping slightly to glance at Xeern more directly while questioning Kana. ~They both look like offworlders, specially seein' how they're not in fatigues...~

Of course, Cira had noticed the techniques Kana had used, and she hid an amused smile, glad to know she might have found one or two people she could identify with in skill, offworld or not.

"Name's Cira Knight. An' who're you two?"[/i]

Seeing movement out of the corner of his eye, Kana quickly got in to a fighting stance, not because he thought it was going to get attacked, but out of habit alone.
Seeing that it was just a lone gentleman, and from the smell of him, another as the Tau'ri put it 'Offworlder', Kana stood down from his attack mode.

"Kana," Kana began, in answer to Cira's question, "Name is Kana."
Kana looked from Cira to Xeern, wondering what the two of them, especially Cira, wanted.

Xeern looked at the two people for a moment before looking around. Right now Xeern was wearing his duty uniform which was black pants, a blue shirt, boots and his combadge, he had slept with it on last night a habit that he had gotten used to no matter though it didn’t really bother Xeern at all. Walking in further he heard the male say that his name was Kana, he looked like he wasn’t from around here just like himself. The woman however looked like a woman from Earth. “Warrior First Class Xeern Lu’Tic.” Xeern replied back to the woman who now introduced herself as Cira Knight. “I’m interested in knowing what this room is used for. I’m unfamiliar on Earth terms right at this present time. Only a guest here until my ship is repaired.” Xeern added in as he looked at the two. Xeern wondered if there was a place he could use for a workout he hadn’t been able to train recently only been able to use what his ship had nothing else. Xeern continued to look around before his eyes fell upon the two people he had just met. He wondered why the two would be here though he gathered that he would find out that very answer to his question soon enough.

Cira allowed a brief smile to form on her face as she nodded slightly to both of them, turning her attention to Xeern for a moment. "This here room is what we call a gym! We can add various equipment if needed an' use it fer exercise an' sparring. I use it a lot, as do others, especially most of the males. Though sometimes I don' really need a gym to exercise, thanks ta Parkour/free-running.

Nice to meet ya two, as well." she then glanced towards Kana. "By th'way, Kana, no need to be tense around me, but I can understand the stance is probably a habitual precaution for you." it was the same reason why Cira always kept a scan going when in a room with two or more people, especially ones she didn't know. She may just be a medic, but her interests indicated she wasn't one otherwise. She was also trained in combat. Even Cira herself didn't really think about the fact that that her knees were already bent in a casual, undefined fighting stance, the knees bent just about the same amount as the 'at ease' military stance. Hers was more subtle but it was likely they would both notice since they were obviously fighters. "Now when I walked in here, I noticed you were practicing somethin' very familiar to me. Parkour, aka free-running in my world, sound familiar? I was gonna work on th' same in here 'till I got bored, then go elsewhere..."

Kana glared at Cira and ground his teeth together at what she had said.
It wasn't what she had suggested, but it was the word she had used. Maybe in her world the word 'Parkour' meant the style she was talking about, but to Kana the word 'Parkour' was a sign of the utmost disrespect, hostility and hatred.

"Gahshanok!" Kana declared in the native Quasen tongue, which sounded like a bunch of angry clicks and whistles, much like those of a dolphin, "You take that back!" Kana said as he once again got in to his fighting stance. This time he meant it. If Cira didn't take back what she had said, Kana told himself that he would attack her, even though she was a girl.

Xeern took another quick look around this gym once more, he heard Cira explain what the room was used for and he couldn’t believe his eyes he had found a place to actually train while he was on Earth. Xeern loved to train in his martial arts, he smiled for a moment before turning back to Cira and Kana. Xeern wondered if the two people standing before him trained in a form of martial as well though there was only one way to find out. Xeern stood still for a moment or two as he heard Cira speak to Kana about Parkour though suddenly Kana began to get pissed of with Cira about something that he wasn’t sure about until he listen in closely on what was being said. It seemed that Cira had insulted Kana by saying the word Parkour, Xeern himself had never heard of the word until looking through Earth’s database on their martial arts because of his interest in it. Xeern hadn’t said anything until now. “Look we’re all from different worlds here and there’s bound to be some differences in our words. Cira obviously didn’t know that word was an insult to you use some logic in this and lets move on.” Xeern explained to the group.

Cira stared at Kana with a slightly dumb struck look on her face for a moment. What had she said that confused him? Then she realized only one word was a possibility before Xeern cut in. “Look we’re all from different worlds here and there’s bound to be some differences in our words. Cira obviously didn’t know that word was an insult to you use some logic in this and lets move on.” Cira folded her arms. She also couldn't help but think Kana sounded like a dolphin. "Agreed. That's what we call it here, Kana. Shall I call it 'free running' around you?" she shrugged. "I had no idea such a word offended your kind, I'm sorry."

With that said, she smiled briefly before flipping into a backwards handspring. Balancing on one hand for a second a good distance away from them, she then placed the suspended hand on the ground and attempted to walk towards the West wall on her hands, humming a random tune. Her legs bent somewhat in the air, Cira swayed a little every few 'steps', but otherwise maintained balance thanks to upper body strength. She didn't take a straight path to the wall, she tested her balance by moving around to the left or right on the way. "Now y'all are welcome to join me if yer familiar with yer planet's form of free running, though I'm not going to be here TOO long." Cira intended to run around elsewhere, and perhaps off base for a bit as well.

When Cira apologized, Kana relaxed, nodding his head in acceptance as he stood up straight.
"Now y'all are welcome to join me if yer familiar with yer planet's form of free running, though I'm not going to be here TOO long."[/b]

Kana thought about the invitation for a few moments. It was possibly a chance to get off the base and see a small portion of the Tau'ri home world and heck, it sure beat hanging around the gym!

"Very well, lead the way." Kana said as he folded his arms across his chest. He glanced at Xeern, wondering if he would also accept the invitation as well.

While he waited, Kana went over all of his training in the art of free basing, which was his word for 'Parkour', though the term free running would work as well. Kana never showed off or preformed tricks for the appeasement of others; that wasn't his style. He only did it for exercise and in tight situations that needed a fast out.

He watched Cira do the traditional hand stand before beginning to walk on her hands, but Kana wasn't moved in the slightest. Tricks like that were child's play, surely she could do better.

Xeern looked at the two people and hopped that this could all be solved in a matter of moment but these sorts of things sometimes never can be solved right away but he wondered if this moment could be. Suddenly however Cira spoke up shortly after he had finished speaking, he looked from Cira to Kana wondering what was going to happen next. Xeern remained silent as he listened to Kana it would seem that the guy had calmed down which was good it meant that they could put all this behind them. “You know I have a form of free running as well though from what I can tell it’s a mixture of two other martial arts forms as well. Something called Ninjutsu and Kung Fu, did a little bit of research after you General Landry gave me a database to look into. Let’s just say I’m interested in different forms of martial arts.” Xeern explained to Cira and Kana. Pulling his shirt up, Xeern took it of only to reveal a thing black undershirt it was more comfortable to practice his martial arts in than the heavy blue shirt. Xeern watched Cira for a moment his eyes fell upon Kana as he wondered if the guy was going to do something as well. Running towards a wall of the gym, Xeern ran up the wall before doing a back flip of it. Landing next to Cira he grinned, his day just got better.

<1604, Gym>

"Ah, cool I'm kinda familiar with those, but I specialize in Kenpo Karate and Capoeria. I've dabbled in a few others though." she wasn't going to tell them she was capable of fighting drunk (for the most part). That was her little secret, as she didn't get drunk much anyway! Observing Xeern for a moment, she watched him make a nice landing not far from her. Thanks to Capoeira, she now had numerous fun ways to blend dancing, 'drunk martial arts', and self defense together to do more than frustrate an opponent.

Remaining where she was a moment longer, Cira decided to proceed with the challenge, not really caring where Xeern and Kana went next so long as no one collided with one another. Grinning back, she quickly turned her attention to the West and North wall's corner not far from them. Darting over in a couple brisk steps, she too ran up the wall/made a running pass as high as she could get herself before moving to the North wall towards Xeern with a brief thump. Just taking a step or so from that wall, she pushed off the wall and leaped high into a flip towards and well over him. Landing in a brief roll a bit more than a yard away, she sprung up to her feet and darted for the other corner diagonal to them, doing a twisting front flip after a couple steps, something she'd picked up from Capoeira and break dancing. Cira deliberately chose to ignore the fact that she 1) knew she was trying to show off and 2) thought both of them were darn good looking.

Kana glanced around, eying every wall, chair and piece of equipment that he had no idea what they were.
Kneeling down, Kana ran a hand along the floor, testing the surface to see if it was possible to slide along it. Feeling the hardness, it was quite clear that sliding was going to be near impossible, at least on this surface.

Looking up, Kana traced the metal beams that made of the roof of the gym. They were narrow and sharp certainly high up.
Finally, Kana knew what he was going to do. It wasn't something he had planned to do, but it would provide him with some great exercise.

Making sure the path was clear, Kana ran at the South wall, full speed. Upon reaching the wall, the speed he had worked to carry him up several steps. After that, Kana pushed off the wall, leaning his body to the right, grabbing hold of the top of one of the pieces of equipment, using that to swing himself up, landing gracefully on the top of the Bowflex, which thankfully was folded up or it would have collapsed.

Eying this plastic board that had a hoop and a net attached to it, Kana jumped outward, grabbing the metal hoop and used it to swing himself up and over, towards the furthermost beam that made up the roof.
Smoothly, Kana grabbed the beam, using it to swing himself up, much like a gymnast does. Once on top of the beams Kana ran along them, jumping every time he needed to.
He wasn't concerned about falling or how he was going to get himself down. The quickest way down was falling, and if done right he wouldn't hurt himself.

Xeern listened to Cira for the moment as she spoke back to him explaining that she knew some of the forms that he was talking about. Xeern continued to watch Cira as she went of doing her free running thing around the gym, he couldn’t help but smile in all the places in the universe he had found two alien people that had similar interests as himself. Xeern did another back flip and landed softly on the ground, he was merely warming up before he dashed out of this gym though he did wonder what Cira’s General Landry would say if they passed him but it wasn’t worrying Xeern that much. Xeern felt free whenever he was training in martial arts and plus it meant that he could push himself to new limits with these two and break them. This room however was way to small for Xeern to practice to his fullest abilities he needed the entire base to practice or perhaps a city. “You guys should come back to my planet one day. We have planet wide martial arts tournaments that last for days.” Xeern explained. “This room is way too small I’m going to the hallway.” Xeern added in. Xeern exited the room and eyed down the hallway making sure he knew where everything was before making his jump. Running down he jumped up the wall and began to run it, making a quick move he jumped to the left wall then back to the right wall. As he went to make another jump Xeern accidently knocked over an tech guy called Walter. Xeern remembered Walter from before when he was at the Stargate Command’s control room. Xeern couldn’t help but smile as he watched the papers fall everywhere. Xeern however kept on running down the hallway walls and from time to time he would jump from left wall to right wall.
