The time had come, Pooja noted as her mother and sister-in-law placed the veil on her head. This was the event she was looking forward to over the last five weeks. Now that it was here, her stomach danced and butterflies roamed inside it. From the other room Pooja could hear Marah whining and grumbling over what she was wearing. Ever the tomboy, Pooja mentally chuckled.

Meeting her mother’s eye in the mirror’s reflection and softened, when she noted the tears, her own eyes stung with some. The occasion, she knew would be joyous, but with bittersweet parting. Holding her mother’s gaze, an understanding passed, without the use of words, Pooja travelled her gaze to Kajal, who just beamed at her. Marriage suited the woman Pooja decided as she rose to her feet and so did Raj. Speaking of her brother she watched him walk in, and take stock of her in her bridal dress.

Stumped for words Raj just gawked at his sister, forced a lump down. He had worked hard to mend few fences with Jerry, for the sake of his sister, “I came to see if you all were…” he trailed off he stroked her cheek before pulling her in to a hug. She was no longer a little girl, but she still was his baby sister.

"Kajal will keep an eye on you to make sure you don't do anything dumb," Pooja poked her brother after the left the embrace and looked at her brother before smiling.

She scowled and glared - all while attacking the tie that she was working with too well tie it and - at him. Kimberly McKinnon was throwing the said looks at her friend and former Commanding Officer Jerry Garcia, “Would you for god sake hold still,” she told him, calmly as she could, knowing he hated ties, “your acting like a frightened kitten on a stormy night. Geez, that’s a wrong image sitting in my head.” A corner of her mouth twitched all the same. She heard a gurgle of sound and looked at her 3 month old daughter, Geraldine Francine Delta McKinnon, who seemed to be delighted at watching her mother expression she was throwing at her godfather; in response she kicked her own legs.

Facing the baby, “I swear your daddy behaved a lot better than he is,” she kept the comment light and was rewarded with a toothless grin.

Lance chose to walk in right that moment, winked at Jerry, “I did?” he titled his head and looked at her, “I remember jumping nerves and unsteady stomach. Even two shots of brandy failed to calm the nerves.”

Rolling her eyes Kim got back the task on hand, “I don’t think that’s helping, Lance,” she quipped dryly, then met Jerry’s eyes, “Or is it?”

Marah walked into Pooja's room as everyone else started to pour into it. She was wearing the dress Pooja had picked but had complained about it all till this day. Today she would wear the dress, even thogh it was not her in the least bit, because it was her best friends day. She smiled at Pooja, "Don't say I don't ever do anything for you" she said with a mocking grin. She even wore the heels that Pooja had gotten. "You look gorgeous Pooja" she said.

Jerry was never comfortable in his dress whites, he much preferred his fatigues. Kim was fussing over his tie and Jerry was on the edge of just leaving it off. Would you for god sake hold still, your acting like a frightened kitten on a stormy night. Geez, that’s a wrong image sitting in my head. The second love of his life, his goddaughter Geraldine, was cooing and smiling beside him. I swear your daddy behaved a lot better than he is.

Lance took that very minute to enter the room, I did? I remember jumping nerves and unsteady stomach. Even two shots of brandy failed to calm the nerves. Kim shot Lance a quick hard stare, I don’t think that’s helping, Lance, Or is it? A shot of Scotch would probably calm his nerves, but he decided to do this with any help.

Kim, are we about done here? He was hoping for a positive answer, and intead of waiting for one, he bent down quickly and grabbed little Geri and wrapped his arms around her. You gonna give me away sweetie, of keep me to yourself. A little giggle came out of her as he kissed her cheeck gently.

Raj had only laughed as words had come out of her mouth, throwing a grin at his wife of one month, “Oh really? I’ll just make sure she’s busy with the guest and everything, and then take care of that brother-in-law of mine.”

She glared, “You wouldn’t,” she sounded horrified at the thought, “Do anything dumb, and I’ll stop speaking to you.”

Before Raj could reply, Pooja saw Marah, enter and grinned “Let me take a look at that outfit.” Taking stock of the pale pink Lehenga, “Of course you won’t hear complaints from me.” She laughed. “I swear this looks gorgeous on you. I’m sure every eye is likely to be on the bride’s best friend. So how many people are downstairs that we know?”

Oh sure the signs of nervousness there. Well it was given, Pooja reasoned, since this was her and Jerry’s wedding day after all. Thinking of man who was going to be her husband in few short hours gave her delight and few flutters of butterflies in her stomach. From what Kim had told her; this type of nervousness was to be expected, at least till she saw Jerry. That alone caused her cheeks to go rose coloured.

She wanted to give out a flat answer of ‘No’, but before she could speak, he was already diving to grab Geri, shaking her head she decided that she was done tying the tie around his neck, “Yea I think I’m,” she laughed as she moved to sit on the bed and watched Jerry interact with the tiny girl who had him wrapped around her finger already. She gave a little snort at the question, “If it depended on her; she might keep you. Since we all know that you would do anything she asked if she could talk.”

Seeing him standing there with her daughter in his arms, it struck Kim how far he had come since that day SD5 had visited Pentagon. Gone was, the guilt and the pain over Ann that had been his eyes and replaced by the love for two of his girls. From where she stood she couldn’t repay Rai in her lifetime for what the doctor had done for the man Kim had over the course of the time she had known him and considered him as a brother. She felt Lance’s arms around her waist, leaning into his shoulder and just watched.

Geri giggled again as another kiss came and bounced in her godfather’s embrace, waving her tiny hand to let him know she was having fun, right till some pretty colours on his left chest caught her attention, cooing over them she moved her fisted hand and tried to grab them from where they were, not having any luck she looked at him with an expression that clearly spoke about her inability to get the colours out. Watching him she found the curve of his nose fascinating and moved to grab that for play with. Making few gurgles of noises as if warning him over what she was going to do.

“She’ll keep you all right,” Lance laughed, after seeing what his daughter was on about, “McKinnons usually play for keeps. Unfortunately finder’s keepers won’t work with her.”

Tim took a deep breath and looked at the image in the mirror, hair cut a few day’s ago, a tan that had been progressively darker over the last few months spend out in the open, ‘Man it felt good to finally be back on Earth.’ A whole lot of better then he’d first liked to admit when coming back to attend OCS.
His eyes wandered further down on his dark blue class A uniform and stopped at his rank insignia. “You’re an officer now, remember?
With a small grin he gently touched the small golden bar and then shook his head, “Still can’t believe I actually passed with honors…”
After a final look to make sure everything looked top notch, he grabbed the cap and exited his room.

He walked down the hallway towards where the McKinnons resided.
So, the Commander had finally decided to propose to the Doc then. It had almost come to the point of a few men putting up a betting poll on when it should become official that Garcia actually had proposed to his more then obvious love of his life.
With a small grin twitching in the corners of his mouth, he knocked on the door post and entered the wide open door and burst in laughter.

The sight of Garcia and their unofficial team mascot Geraldine was just too amusing to even try to hide.
“Now that is a Kodak-moment in the making Commander,” and then turned towards Lance, “Aww come on sir, you know we’d take good care of her…”

Jerry turned as Tim spoke. Well, what have we here. If it isn't a shiny new Lieutenant Foster. Jerry gave Tim a quick salute, while still holding Geri in his left arm. Glad you made it, Tim.

Geri was still trying to pull at his ribbons with one hand, and his nose with the other. To get her to stop Jerry squeezed his face into the crook of her neck and made raspberry sounds there to get her giggling. He gently handed her over to Lance, and moved toward Tim. Leaning in close he whispered, You think I'm tough, wait till she gets a hold of you. He chuckled as he stepped away, and looked at his reflection in the mirror.

Seeing Tim walk in, Kim shifted to see the newly made Lieutenant, a bit more clearly, and smirked, “Well, well, if it isn’t Lt Foster. Survive the training, did you?” she asked as she sat up, Lance’s hand still resting around her waist.

Lance grinned and threw Jerry a wink, “I’m sure you all would,” he spoke as he rested his chin on Kim’s elbow, “but she’s my little girl.” He said in matter of fact. She was the light; he never thought he would have with Kim. Taking her from Garcia, he laid her on top of his chest where she leaned in to grab his chin in her mouth and cooed. “Your messy for kid aren’t you?” he spoke to her which only caused her to make noises in delight. By gods she was going to have every man cooing over her. Out shining the bride wasn't what Geri needed to do.

Laughing Kim got her feet and took out the dress Pooja had picked for the girl, then gently picked the little bundle in her arms, hugged her daughter, “Your getting changed in the clothes Aunt Poo brought you. No?” Getting her daughter out her day clothes, Kim was in the process of having the shoes removed when a kid entered fast as lighting in the room. She made a face at the kid.

“Daddy’s says the horsey is ready.” The three year old Brandon Oxford announced to the room feeling a little perplexed. He didn’t really understand the idea of the horse and weddings. Knowing his mother wasn’t around; he tried to take of the bow tie that his mom had put on. Unable to do it, he moved over to Tim and Jerry, and tugged each man’s pants, “Wanna take this off?” he asked with a twisted face.

Shaking her head Kim continued to dress up her daughter, while Lance double checked the nappy bag. Looking at Foster, “Where the heck is Kale?” she asked.

Tim returned the salute and grinned, “Graduated a few days ago and then got here as soon as I could. Wouldn’t miss it for the world, sir.”
He chuckled and nodded towards Lance and Geri, “I know what you mean sir, she literally stole my heart the first time I met her. Her parents will have to watch her closely when she grows up…”

Tim frowned, though his eyes gave him away for only teasing “Why shouldn’t Ma’am? Are you telling me you had any doubts on your favorite Sergeant? If I’d survived you for almost a year, why shouldn’t I be able to survive 12 weeks of yelling at OTC? At least I *knew I it was only for a few weeks this time.”

Crouching down next to Brandon, he gave the kid a sympathetic smile, “I know it’s not the most comfortable thing to wear, but if mum says so, you have to do as told you know? And you know what? Only really big boys get’s to wear them. Have a look around and you’ll see that I’m right. How’s your sister then? Is she getting any useful yet?”
He looked up towards Ashwood, “Sorry, haven’t seen him in a while. He said he’d take a shower after having ravaged the market place a few blocks away, so I hope he didn’t drown in there. Don’t worry; he’ll be back in time for the ceremony.”

Kale with a walking stick in his hand, walked out of his room and down the corridor after having his shower as he needed one after being out at the Market which was nearby as he needed a tie for the night, but having a shower is still a little bit slow due to his injuries that he sustained while defending the base against the Olympian fighters, "Bloody Shrapnel but I should be used to it as it is nothing compared to being a POW" Kale thought to himself. But today was a special day as his CO was getting married to Pooja which is someone that he still has to know.

"Sorry I am late" Kale said after he walked in the door to the room "I couldn't believe that looking for a tie can be so hard in a country like this, plus these days things are sort of harder to do due to these injuries especially the ones to my arm and leg but the doctor says that my injuries are healing well" Kale continued. The injuries to his cheek are almost healed and will leave a nasty scar. His arm and leg is going to take a while longer still and his right leg is only scarred, but he isn't here to ramble on about his injuries as this is a time of celebration.

Walking up to Jerry, Kale said "not long to go now until you are not a free man" and then he smiled and said "Nah is there anything that you would like to in your last moments as a single man Sir". Kale is dressed in his Dress Uniform as nothing he put on that was Indian suited him at all, it took him long enough to put his uniform on but it could take longer if he went Indian style.

But thats it so far" she stated with a shrug of her shoulders. Marah looked around at the room they were in. "So how is the lovely couple been anyway?" she asked taking a seat near her.

Nikolia walked through the doors of the hotel. I had taken him a while but he had arranged time and transport to India. He had received a invite from the pair while on mission so was not able to send back a RSVP but he did plan to be there on his Ex Commanders special day. He walked up the the head desk in the hotel. "Good Evening Zir, I am looking for the Garcia party?" he asked and the man pointed to a room of the lobby. Niko nodded to the man and walked into the room. He smiled from the entrance at seeing Kale, Kim, Tim and Jerry all standing there. He walked in to the room. "I am zorry for not anzwering zooner but I am here to celebrate thiz great day Zir." he said walking up to the group. He smiled at seeing his old friends again.

Lance laughed as he zipped up the last pocket of the bag, “I don’t think watching her would be a problem. If Garcia is anything, Kim has said he is, then I think we make need to keep an eye on him. Since no sane teenage boy would come near her without a fear of the Commander throwing them in to the Naval Academy. When was the last time a guy was afraid of girl’s godfather as oppose to the father?”

Listening to what Lance was saying Kim shook her head and finished dressing Geri, “If you aren’t careful, Lance, you just might meet his fist yourself.” Snickering Kim picked up Geri, cooing, “Isn’t that right?” The tiny McKinnon gave a wide smile and waved her fist agreeing with her mother.

Pretending to be insulted Lance pouted, “Yea let’s see who changes your diaper when Uncle Jerry isn’t around.” He leaned in and tapped his daughter’s nose. Hearing what Tim was saying Lance hooted with laughter, “If you survived her then you’re lucky, pal. Every enlisted who came across from her ended up getting transferred.”

Glaring at her husband Kim faced Foster, “No reason. Just curious” then watched Foster interact with Tiny Mr Oxford, “My gods he’s got his father’s charms. Heaven helps us all.”

Brandon made a face when the bow removing was shot down, and looked around at all the grown up were in ties or bows, He was going in the big boys league, then looked at Tim baffled, when the man asked about his sister, “She’s meant to be useful? You mean I get to teach her tricks and stuff? I don’t think she will learn any. Playing with Buster is more fun than playing with Vicky. She just makes endless babbles and never stops. She throws things too.”

Seeing Niko walk in Kim rushed to his side, and gave him a hug carefully since she was also holding her daughter. Last time she had seen the man was when she left Delta site, “You’re just time. We are about to leave for the Bride’s place, that is once our Dear Commander is ready with calm nerves.”

“Jerry, we will leave when ever you’re ready.” Her lips curled n her side of her mouth with amusement, the man was looking nervous as the minutes ticked by. “Are you sure you don’t want Lance you to bring you a shot or two of Brandy?”

Destiny walked up the street to where Poo had told the two girls to meet up. It still came as a shock that she of all people were invited. After really meeting Poo and Jerry once they rescued the Task Force from the Nidhogg, this captain from losing herself completely to the clutches of the Queen, made it very surprising to say the least. Though, here she was with Samarra, heading for the house, while also taking in the sites of New Delhi. Beautiful city to match the wonderful country they were in.

Still, as there was a lot to distract one's mind, it wasn't enough for Destiny. The pilot didn't feel right coming to a wedding when the mind, and herself, wasn't back up to hundred percent. Though this female knew it would take years to get back to the way she use to be. Knowing that you were an enemy to the very people that you called friends, almost family, was enough to crush anyone's spirit. To know that you turned against everyone you stood beside, helping to defend various attacks, made some days hard to function. Though the doctors gave Destiny a clean bill of health, this young woman was far from being OK. A part of this would always be in the back of the mind, plaguing her to no end.

On the outside, it looked like the pilot was working through as all the others appeared to be. That slowly things were going back to the way it should be, but that was just the mask that she forced herself to wear on the outside. Inside, the female was dying, honestly not feeling like she even belonged on the Task Force, or even in the military anymore. Even if everyone else had done some way of forgiving the brunette, she never would. In her mind, no friend who do that to the ones she cared about. Even if she was brainwashed, the real Destiny should have fought back in some way. It made her sick to know that she didn't.

Shaking the head to clear the thoughts, Des smiled softly over at Samarra. "You ready for this?" she asked conjuring up as much excitement that she could; had act like that because this was a wedding. In India of all places. A place the captain had never been before, for a wedding none the less. Today was a joyous day, not a day to focus on yourself. This was Poo's day and Des was going to be the happiest she could. The young woman deserve that and this pilot would do whatever it took to make sure nothing would bring her down from that.

Knocking on the door, Des rocked back on the heels, thankful to have Samarra along. At least some of their friendship was still in tact. "Think Poo might have any cute brothers?"she asked with a wink trying to make some conversation, while also trying to distract her mind from the thoughts that never stopped. For today, it was mandatory they did.
