Chris listened to Honey tell him she was worried about the team and when she stopped he gave her a soft smile and said, "You are not alone in your fears and concerns. I too share that fear that this may be the end for at least one of us. I believe that you may forgive yourself, but not right away. I think that you will be fine. You are a survivor, a fighter. I know that in your heart you will find the strength to do what needs to be done." Chris paused momentarily to let his words sink in, not only for Honey, but for those who were listening in to their conversation as well. "And as far as our last mission went, it was an accident. There was nothing any of us could do to prevent that avalanche of water. But we survived, and thats what matters. We are here, in the present and this is where we should stay. Eileen Caddy once said, 'Dwell not on the past. Use it to illustrate a point, then leave it behind. Nothing really matters except what you do now in this instant of time. From this moment onwards you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand. Though she did not say those words before being in a situation that we find ourselves in but I believe she held wisdom beyond her years. So dwell not on the past, look not into the future but remain focused on the present, and you will be fine."
Chris looked at John and continued, "And besides, you have us to help watch your back."
"Pardon me Senorita but I was always taught that it is in times like these that true bravery and courage shine through." He paused for a moment before continuing. "Las estrellas son siempre allí pero nosotros los perdemos en la tierra y nubes. Nosotros los perdemos en las tempestades. Dígalos recordar la esperanza. Tenemos la esperanza." As he spoke those words in his native tounge a small smile crossed his face. "'The stars are always there but we miss them in the dirt and clouds. We miss them in the storms. Tell them to remember hope. We have hope.' Those words have gotten me through hard times Senorita, and hopefully they will help you as well."
Honey listened to the words the two men had spoken. She was greatful for their reassuarnce. She was also greatful to know she wasn't the only one who tought along those lines.
It seemed odd to her that the others seemed so concerned about the absence of the leaders. She had pretty much figured they must have been needed to finalize the plan of attack. She smiled at Andy's star trek reference. She was ready for what ever the order would be.
