Season Two Finale: Olympomachy

Captain Cromin had just gotten off the radio with Sergeant Blaine; apparently there was a developing situation, a non-issue at the moment but Captain Cromin who was all business when it came to the Job that they did never overlooked anything. In fact he was taught like he had taught others to always err on the side of caution. It is better to be prepared and not do anything that to be unprepared and then have a situation to deal with. The young Captain had asked if Captain Blackwell wanted to go along with him to go check out what Team 6 had found but she had declined the invitation. Cromin had the feeling that some how she was happy to get rid of him. He walked off smiling leaving Lieutenant Reynolds in charge of the security in the Command center that had been set up upon arrival.


Cromin walked the hallways wondering what could possibly be happening. He was hoping that there was no issue at the moment but some how he felt something was wrong, and the last thing he wanted was for the security of this mission to be compromised. He did not want to be caught unawares especially since this was the first mission he was on since he was given this command.


Cromin walked into the Deep Space Exploratory Lab that Team 6 was in and immediately the sergeant and the airman stood at attention and Cromin waived them off saying "At ease, . . . Sergeant Blaine, what's going on again?" Sergeant Blaine responded saying "Sir, I will let this good Doctor explain the science here because it's giving me a headache, Doctor . . ." Captain Cromin who was laughing at this time responded saying "I don't blame you Blaine, it drives me crazy too. Ok Doctor . . . ?" Cromin motioned to the Doctor as he waited for his response. ". . . Hartsfield, P.hd Astrophysics." Cromin now responded with a smirk saying "Ok Dr Hartsfield P.hd Astrophysics, what's the problem?" The Doctor in turn said "Where is Captain Blackwell, I don't like guns and you always carry one. I have never, not seen you without one?" Cromin getting a little bit antsy said "She is unavailable at the moment Doctor, what is the problem?" The Doctor went on to explain saying "There is what is known as Dark Space where we cannot get accurate reading of real time events, there is a wide range of energy fluctuations which is normal but it serves as a place to mask any ongoing activity. That means it is a perfect place to lay an ambush or to hide pretty much anything that you want to and it will not be considered anything up until now." The Captain got a little bit curious "What do you mean up until now Doctor, are you saying that there is something hiding there?" The Doctor responding said "No, that I am not sure of, all I am saying at this point is that we have a perfect hiding spot that is yet to be cleared by us, and I just found something weird in all that weirdness." Cromin responded saying "Go on" Dr Hartsfield continued saying "Well, this was totally by chance, you see all these lines fluctuating, moving up and down, those are the energy readings of every activity taking place over there but as I was watching the readings, I noticed a very faint stable line that began just after the Sergeant's call to you on the radio. I almost wrote it off but I saw three more rise up and they all merged into that one line and then they remained there. My only explanation for this is that something just started and its energy reading is different from everything else that is in there. It is finding order in the midst of all the chaos; and from everything we know about Dark Space, that is truly abnormal and it warrants further investigation. If I might add, if it is found to be free from any threats I would like to volunteer my services over there" Cromin responding to the good doctor saying "Thank you Doctor, volunteering your services, well that you would have to take up with the Lieutenant Colonel, I will put in a good word for you though."

Captain Cromin walked to a corner of the room and tapped his earpiece. "Cromin to Blackwell, Hey Sam you are needed in the Deep Space Exploratory Lab, we have a developing situation that is a non issue at the moment and it just might remain that way but you need to come see something over here."

As soon as he got done with Sam he placed a call to the Aenied. "Cromin to Bridge, this is Captain Cromin, Bridge patch me through to Lt Col Harrison" Cromin explained he wanted to give real time SITREP on what he had found down in the research station to the Lt Col and that he is waiting for Captain Blackwell to weigh in on the new development although he recommended that the Aenied go check out the abnormality. “Sir I say we get in close with the Aenied and have a cloaked jumper do the investigating.” He said all of this while waiting for Captain Blackwell to arrive.

A sudden noise brought Saoise's head up from her arms that she was resting it on. She had fallen asleep, in the middle of the day no less. She idly glanced at her watch to check the time. Unlike the watched the military liked to use, digital ones, she like to use the one with an actual face, with hands. It took her a few moments to read what the time was. As soon as she did, Saoise bolted right out of her chair......she was terrible late.....for an away mission. In fact she missed the debriefing as well. Why didn't anyone get her? Probably because she was the wallflower tech that just liked to appear out of no where.

It seemed that she had been doing that a lot around the ship. She would go unnoticed for the longest time and then it would just dawn on someone that she was there, actually doing something.

One of her tasks for the mission was to help get the Niddhogg distress beacon up and running as to attract the Niddhogg. In her opinion, she viewed the mission akin to whacking a beehive with a stick to get it out of a tree and make it go away, but at the same time you smelled like flowers.

It had taken Saoise longer then she wanted to take, but she managed to get all the tools and equipment that she needed and explain that she needed to beam down to the facility, speaking slowly to the guy beaming down spare hard drives. (For she ofter spoke with a thick accent and very quickly when she was nervous).

Now was the perfect time to be the wallflower, and maybe no one would notice that she had gotten there very late. Quickly as she could, she looked around trying to figure out what was going on and where she should be and doing, without having to ask, making it known that she had been very bad being late.

Today, Abi felt especially spacey – and not exactly in the good way. The good way only fueled her natural hyperness and made her…her – but that’s not what was creeping down her spine. Maybe it was homesickness. Maybe it was just sickness. Or maybe she was just a bit tired, and not used to being such. Even when she overworked herself, she had a natural ‘buzz’ about her movements and even voice – which were often the product of adrenaline when she should have been growing weary. Eh – it was probably nothing.

"See if you can put that on the display screen," Marra requested, causing Abi to tinker a bit to try to make her wish a reality, "The coding isn't going to show up right on the tablet. Apparently, Vista isn't compatible with the Asgard operating system...or anything for that matter."
“Bloody Microsoft,” she whispered, with a hint of a grin, as she pressed a few buttons, causing the characters to stream across the screen, “Ha! Got it!”
Marra began directing the files by putting her hand upon the jeweled-surface-thingy, as Abi’s deep blue eyes stared at the screen, attempting to make sense of it all.
"It's all here. I'll just do a quick read through on some of the material to make sure we're fitting most of the vital information onto the hard drive." Glancing at Abi, she added, "I'll see if anything is tagged as 'pants' as well."
Ely smirked and inclined her head slightly, “If it is, I so deserve a metal or a rank of some sort for calling it,” she mused, her South African accent fluttering with the idea.

"Let's not get crazy Abi, we have two departments here, Security and Intelligence. It only makes sense that both department heads go through any intel found to make sure that from both perspectives everything is on point. I know we might have started off on the wrong foot and for that I apologize, i wasn't as funny as i had thought, again my apologies. In fact let us begin afresh, hello I am Captain Robert Cromin of the USAF, Aenied's Chief of Security, pleasure to meet you.”
Abi rose a brow, appraising Cromin…Cramin…Cram in? Wow – way to stay focused, “Well, now my introduction sounds quite a bit like nothing, with all your ranks and titles. I’m just a Civvie that’s good with codes and languages,” she smirked, “Bonjour, Hallo, Hola, Ciao, Zdravo, Ahoj, Hej, Hei, Ola, Sveiki, Labas, Witaj, Olá, Salut, Merhaba, Xin chào, and hello – I am Aby Ely, Cryptologist/Linguist,” she smirked, filling the gap that her introduction left in ranks, by filling in all the versions of the word ‘hello’ that she could think of off the top of her head…and that was just the top of her head, alone. More flooded her mind as soon as she said the word ‘I’ after the English version, ‘Hello’.

As Marra started speaking to someone over her comm., before Cromin tried to drag her away – which was quickly rejected.

"No, no, no. You go have your fun with your team. Abi and I have it handled here, and the Technical Team seems to be coming along. I think we're set. Radio in if you need anything. Mkay?"

Cue more chatter with the bridge, which was all probably above Abi’s jurisdiction, so she’d just go about her work in silence, while pondering the Universe – literally.
"Abi, can you collect these files and set them aside for a little bit?" she requested right after ending her transmission, "I want to give them a closer look.”
“Alrighty, Marra,” Abi replied, forgetting rank for the moment. Oops. Stupid Civvie brain. Well – she really didn’t talk to that many people that were all in love with their rank and wanted to hear it every time they were addressed. Alek had a rank, right? She was yet to call him anything but ‘the Russian Ninja’ and ‘Alek’...and that’s honestly the only ‘rankish’ person she associated herself with that often. Everyone else had a rank that was so low that they didn’t care. She really needed to start getting out more.

Abi half-listened to Marra’s end of the convo, attempting to solely focus upon the items at hand.
"Do you know what this word means? Maybe we should cross reference it with some of the others, try to figure it out in context." Marra suddenly asked, causing Abi to refocus.

Asgard’s language was weird. She was still in the process of familiarizing herself with it, in addition to the many other language that weren’t ‘Earthly’, which she was suddenly presented with on a daily basis – at least some of them had some Earthish routes. Like Ancient. Latin rules all.

Craning her head to the side, Abi was slightly caught off-guard by her hair not falling over her shoulders, until she remembered it was slung back in a pony tail. Way to be observant, Abi.
“Hmm…I really wanna say pants,” she smirked, as she began tapping her chin, “Huh…it kinda reminds me of their word for ‘light’ – but not. Maybe ‘bright?’” she glanced over at Marra, as if to check if her ideas were okay.

Her attention, however, was distracted by a new arrival. Saoise Brenna. YAY SHE WASN’T THE ONLY CIVVIE!! Half-tempted to gallop over to her and tackle her in a full-on-hug, Abi frowned. Not now. Work had to be done. Just wave.

And she did, sticking her tongue out and making a face as well.

Way to be mature, Abi. It’s not like you’re over the age of four or anything…

Nolen's Quarters

Nolen sat in the the room, his room was a mess. The small desk was filled with files and letters including a half finished one with the feared words of Dear sir or Madam. It was a letter to Jason's loved ones that he had been trying to write for weeks now. He looked up from his desk and at a self on the left side of the room. There stood all his friends and squad mates pictures that he had lost over the years, with a shot glass next to each of them. Nolen thought of how close he had come to losing not one but two more.

He stood up and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and started to fill the glasses until he got to Jason's he paused and then filled up his too. Then he grabbed his little glass and stood at attention at his fallen friends. He then shot the liquor down and then walked out of his room.

Nolen walked on to the bridge to see what was going on. He nodded to the others on board. "Colonel how are things going?" he asked.

Capt Blackwels comment on the reactions of the security men raised humorous images of an airman armed to the teeth spinning round and pointing M-16 at a small bundle that appeared in the shadows, as well as a wry smile. -"I'll go get him now, Dr's orders drop them all of on a tropical island planet for a week that should clear them up"-

This he knew as soon as he said it was a lame response, sometimes lame is funny, this time maybe not, transmission was terminated for the time being and Davidson went back to watching space, though the upbeat tone of the conversation left him with slightly more positive outlook and stopped him slipping in to the doom and gloom worse-case scenario frame of mind that most Brits seem to go to when ever they hit a slight snag. He started seeing the plus points of the situation they were in;

Firstly, the corridor of Dark Space being as of yet unscanable would provide a tempting approach to the system for anyone who didn't want their approach detected, like the Niddhogg for example, so chances are they would come through that way.

Secondly, the moon was between them and the Dark Space, this wiped out the advantage of anything arriving via Dark Space.

and Thirdly they were closer to the planet, they could still swoop in quickly an whisk the team out if necessary. All he had to do was stay alert and maybe suggest a few adjustments in their positioning, he examined the display and made sure the suggested alterations would work for a few minutes before saying anything.

While Davidson was still working out the optimum position for the Aeneid Capt. Crommin came through asking for Col. Harison, "Colonel, Captain Cromin for you" he punched a few keys passing the transmission on, and reflecting momentarily how he just sounded like a secretary, then made a last check of the sensor data as the sitrep came in along with the recommendation to move the ship and investigate further. Davidson objected to this "Sir i strongly advise against that, our currant position has the moon between us and the area in question and will almost completely obscure our presence from anyone approaching from that area which seems more and more likely. Launching an auxiliary ship to investigate will only distract and put us off balance and could make it more difficult if we do need to depart in a hurry, " That of course was Davidson's oppion the Col. would make the final decision and he would follow like any military officer would. Turning when he heard his squadron leader jumping in after Col.Harison said "Dragon, long time no see sir, I'm having fun with a dark space, which is unreadable, which is interesting."

You know..this little planet wasn't half bad. At least, in good company. Working wiith Abi was just about as enjoyable as it could get. Her little quips and add-ons made life a bit more interesting. Sometimes, she wondered what life must have been like as a civilian. After the age of 14, she knew only the life of a future Air Force Officer. Thank you, daddy. However, she wondered what it would have been like to say what she really wanted to say without fear of a court martial or loss of honor. In a way, as partly creepy as it sounded, Marra almost felt as though she could live vicariously through Abi. Or, at least her responses.

As they began the cross reference, the closest thing to an Asgard Dictionary as they could find, her comm activated.

-Cromin to Blackwell, Hey Sam you are needed in the Deep Space Exploratory Lab, we have a developing situation that is a non issue at the moment and it just might remain that way but you need to come see something over here.-

Closing her eyes, she sighed. God, I hope it's not some space rat in an Asgard mouse trap. she thought, but sucked it up and tapped her earpiece.

-This is Blackwell. I'll be right there.- As she was about to turn to Abi, she caught her teammate making a face at the other civilian on the team, Saoise. She couldnt' help but raise a brow. Shaking her head, but smiling, she motioned toward the corridor. "Captain Cromin wants me to look at something in a Deep Space Lab. Feel free to radio me at ANY time. Over ANYTHING. Seriously." She couldn't help but smirk. "But really, if you find something, let me know."

With that, she set off down the corridor. At least he hadn't sent a security detail to fetch her.

Turning the corner into the lab, she smiled at the astrophysicist and his team.

"What have we here, Doctor?"

Nodding grimly, she turned to Cromin. "Davidson just got in touch with me about that over the comm after he sent the hard drives." Returning her attention to the scientist, she asked, "Can we use the Asgard's systems to help the Aeneid monitor the situation?"

Nodding again, she turned to Cromin again. "Thank you for keeping me informed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll get back to--"

Suddenly, several consoles in the room began flashing and sounding alerts in the Asgard Language. It all became very confusing. A few scientists began tinkering at the consoles, trying to figure out what was going on.

"What the hell is going on??" she exclaimed over the sound. She could read Asgard some, but translating it by ear was completely different. There was only one person who she knew would be able to do it. Tapping her comm, she contacted Abi. "Abi, this is Blackwell. Is there any way you can you translate what the alert is saying?"

With Jonathan busy Nolen walked over to his two pilots. "Des, Lanky how goes everything so far?" he asked and got an interesting answer back from Simon. "Really lets see" Nolen said having a quick scan of his console then at the view port, then he screwed his face up in his thinking expression. After a few minutes he asked Simon, "we have sonar on this tub don't we? Give it a ping and see if anything comes back" he said offering an idea to the man. He wasn't a ship man so he didn't really know what if they had any the sonar would be called. He was a pilot first and a leader second. Understanding these things he left to the tech guys. That was when Nolen noticed a spot in the view port. "Um what is that there guys?" he asked the others. His gut suddenly sank as a bad feeling fell over him. "Please tell me thats not what I think it is?" he stated.

While the Captain waited for Blackwell to come into the Lab, he was deep in thought as he waited for a response back from the LT Colonel. He turned to Dr Hartsfield and said to him, "Doctor can you isolate that wierd signal and run it through our database and that of the Asgard to see if it matches anything we have or they have, that way we can either rule it in or out as something we might be familiar with." Hartsfield replied saying "There is no need for that Captain I can tell you now that we haven't seen anything like this before" The Captain replied to Hartsfield saying "Humor me Doctor, there a bunch of things that you are not privy to, run it! . . . and make it a level 10 top to bottom priority search" Hartsfield replied saying "Authentication code needed" Cromin responded "Alpha, Delta, Charlie, Nina, Six now run it Hartsfiled!"

Then turning to Sergeant Blaine, Captain Cromin said "Blaine I need you to prepare a strike team including yourself . . . if the Lieutenant Colonel gives us a go ahead, I do not want anytime wasted and tell Reynolds to prepare to hold the fort down just in case." Sergeant Blaine nodded saying "Yes sir" he turned around and walked out of the Lab but just then Captain Blackwell walked in.

1355 - 1357

Blackwell walked in with a face that Cromin could only explain as 'please stop wasting my time'. She walked straight to Hartsfield and said "What have we here, Doctor?" The Doctor explained everything that he had told Captain Cromin and also said he was in the process of running a search as Cromin had ordered to try and place the signal as either known or unknown but he had told the Captain that it is a waste of time. Blackwell continued, saying "Davidson just got in touch with me about that over the comm after he sent the hard drives. Can we use the Asgard's systems to help the Aeneid monitor the situation?" Hartsfield responded saying "Yes but I am already doing that now . . . Bridge this is Dr Hartsfield, I am attempting to sync the Asgards sensors to that of the Aenied, please open up a channel for that, thank you." Blackwell ready to leave said to Cromin "Thank you for keeping me informed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll get back to--" She had barely finished her satement when all hell broke loose. The Asgard alarm went off because of what the search had found. Captain Cromin did not need to understand what was on the screens to figure ot what was going on . . . he could understand the sound and all that commotion in any language because this is what he did for a living. Cromin screamed "Battle stations, all hands on deck" Looking at the radar he saw 4 dots close to them, apparently something had just dropped out of hyperspace and it was what was found in the search. Cromin got on the radio "Research Facility wide, this is Captain Cromin, drop whatever you are doing and make your way to our central command post and get ready to be beamed" and tapping his ear piece again he said "Bridge this is Captain Cromin, we have visitors, beam as many as you can onboard, I am going to search for the nearest weapons console and try and assist you in whatever might go down." and with that Cromin made his way to the Weapons computer in the Weapons lab.

Nolen was scanning the view port when Cromin came across the radio.

"Bridge this is Captain Cromin, we have visitors, beam as many as you can onboard, I am going to search for the nearest weapons console and try and assist you in whatever might go down."

Nolen tapped the com link. "Prophet, Dragon. No mate stay with the group we are beaming them up now. If the ship is what we think it is that won't help. We have orders to make a run for it. Cromin do you copy" he said turning the radio to engineering. "I need to get the team beam back asap!" he ordered. Then their alarms went off. The ship was approaching faster than expected. He cursed and jumped up. He ran towards the door. "Des, I need you with me on this Idea I have" he said as he disappeared out the door.

Minutes later he was in the engineering area and talking to the officers there. "I need you to leave Cromin, and Sam down there but bring the rest back. On my command I need you to bring us back too" he said waiting for Des. He called Cromin "Prophet, You and Sam are staying down there. We need to get the weapons on auto defense and then get out of there" he called

Before Abi could respond over the comm, Samarra's attention was drawn to the screen where four dots magically appeared, right on the edge of the "blind spot" that Davidson had talked about before. A string of explitives escaped her mouth, though mostly drowned out by the alert. Her eyes narrowed and her brow furrowed, she turned to the nearest scientist she could find. "Can someone find the volume button? I can't even hear myself think." The civilians gave her a frantic look, one speaking hurriedly to another in a language she didn't understand. Sounded German. Rolling her eyes slightly, she went to the nearest console where the alert flashed and punched in several commands, trying to override at least the audio alarm.

With a bit of success, she was able to stop the sound altogether, though the console still flashed. It was a good thing no one on the team was epileptic...or were they? Now that the obnoxiously loud alarms were off, she caught the tail end of Cromin's transmission.

"--visitors, beam as many as you can onboard, I am going to search for the nearest weapons console and try and assist you in whatever might go down." At first, she was going to scold him herself for trying the "hero" bit. Hansford had tried that on the last mission they did. They were now just barely on talking terms, but she managed to keep it together enough not to deck him on the spot. However, she had nothing to worry about when she hear Nolen's transmission.

"Prophet, You and Sam are staying down there. We need to get the weapons on auto defense and then get out of there." What was with everyone calling her Sam? She wasn't called Sam. She was Samarra...or Marra, as those who knew her well could call her. This would have irked her on a regular day, but those were a rarity in the Ida Galaxy.

"Yes, sir. We're on it," she responded, nodding to Cromin as the darted off down the corridor, "Do you have any sort of guesstimation as to how long we have?"

Making a face at this, she responded, sardonically "Great. No pressure then." Following Cromin, she glanced back to where they once were. Behind them, sporatic flashes of light fromt the beaming technology let her know that some of their own were back on the ship. Were they the only ones left on the base?

"Blackwell to any crew left in the facility. This is a radio check. Callback."

Samarra kept her sidearm drawn as they ran through the facility. "I sure hope you know where you're going."

The simplicity of his Dragon's suggestion suddenly made him feel rather thick, with all these high technology systems around it's easy to get carried away, "Durr, you'd think i'd have though of that being a navy lad, lets see what we get." he taped his shoulder rank insignia, then taping a few buttons and flicking a few overhead switches and putting sonar on, a ping came back he had a contact and it was very close, just as Dragon made his comment. He flicked over to Asgard sensors ran the contact.

"OK this is not good, we now have four Niddhogg ships closing fast ETA FOUR MINUTES" right now there cover was blown, they had to either pull everyone out, run and if they could do some damage in the process, right now they seemed to be keen on doing as much damage as possible. Several pilots ran of the bridge keen to put some plan into action, Simon moved into the now vacant helm station and settled in, re-acquainting himself with the controls, then started plotting the quickest way of braking cover and jumping to hyperspace.

Waiting on the bridge Simon watched and waited as the ships came closer, they were now three minuites out, he'd worked out that they neaded at least one and half to make an escape, this was going very very close. Then some thing hapened that he hadn't anticipated "Colonel the four ship formation split into two groups of two. One headed for the planet, one for the moon they were taking cover behind their trying to flank us."

Nolen smiled at Lanky. "Thats what I'm here for Simon, to point out the obvious" he said before disappearing in a white light.

"Yes, sir. We're on it," she responded, nodding to Cromin as the darted off down the corridor, "Do you have any sort of guesstimation as to how long we have?"/"Great. No pressure then."/"I sure hope you know where you're going."

He arrived on the Facility with Robert and Marra, as she liked to be called, in front of him waiting. He took a gulp. "Sorry Marra forgot about the nickname thing" he said as he got his with a few questions. "Well according to the scans 4 Minutes give or take some" he said as they started to follow Robert towards the weapon systems. "The plan is to get the systems online with the small power packs you guys brought with you and load this program that I have here into the system to give the Aenied control of the weapons and beaming us out of here while we escape. Simple don't you think?" he asked them both as the rushed to the control room. "Lanky how much time have we got?"

Tony looked at the monitor built into his labs wall, it seemed like a hell of a commotion was about, he'd been busy drawing up designs for a new ship and weapons and had his metal turned up a little too loud on his iPhone.

Shifting the stick Simon felt a chill run up his leg, through his torso and, up the back of the neck, the same chill he felt when he pulled any move in aerial flight, the only difference was he was moving a intergalactic battle-cruiser not a single seat plane.
With the of knowledge and backing of Col. Harrison he was using the maneuvering jets to shift the ships attitude and positioning so that they would be in the optimum position to get his shipmates out, make a safe and effective getaway and, defend themselves if necessary, while still maintaining in a hidden position.

The data from the sensors was displayed large on the HUD of the main viewport for all to see, the four Niddhogg ships had now spreading themselves into a line and were advancing slowly towards them, were they unsure suspecting a trap, or were they playing with the crew seeing who would make a move first, the only sure thing was they were continuing to advance.

A transmition came through from the outpost for an update. "Dragon, you've got three minutes and thirty seconds 'till their all over us, it gets better they've spread into line formation and are coming straight at us looks like their trying to flank and catch us in a crossfire. I've moved the ship so we can run when we need to but still be in a position to give 'em a pounding if need be."

Simon covered the sub-light thrust control, the team in the lab were working but you could never be to sure, the ships were coming closer and closer.

With Sub-Lieutenant Davidson at the helm, the cruiser moved closer to the asteroid and into a defensive position. The four Nidhogg cruisers were not looking friendly, they certainly weren't here for a nice old drink and a catchup - they meant business. At the console to Simon's left, Aleksandr tapped away frantically, ensuring all systems were ready for the what would surely turn into a battle. The crew of Task Force Ida hadn't done too well against the Nidhogg cruisers in the past, and considering they were up against four with no back up, it seemed they didn't stand much of a chance.

"Colonel sir, all stations report ready for battle," the Russian reported in his thick accent. Or more likely, ready for retreat!. All crew had reported to their battle stations, and it was now a race against time to see if the crew on the moon below could get the long dead Asgard weapon systems back online in time. "Master Gunnery Officer reports missile tubes primed and standing by, firing solution on enemy vessels is ready!"

Looking at his terminal, Kamarov confirmed that shields were up and powered, with extra juice flowing into the forward shield, which would take the majority of the pounding if and when the bugs decided to fire. He turned to Lieutenant Davidson, hoping he had some good news about the team on the moon, knowing it wouldn't be long until the battle started.
