Once they were in the room, the female captain closed the door behind the two of them, turning to face the man that was causing her heart to do all these crazy aerobics. "What the hell are you doing here?!" asked not pissed or angry just shocked all over again with a huge smile. "I saw you basically three weeks ago and you didn't say anything about this!" This was the surprise of a life time and nothing could top this. This was one of the best days of her life just because of Kevin Phillips coming back.

So long the captain had been dreaming of this day, this moment. So many people, countless friends and teammates, had told her to move on, to let go. They told her it was the right thing to do but no one really understood just how much trying to move on from Kevin had kicked a large part of Destiny Andre. It was just than just boyfriend, or someone that she fell in love with. Kevin was like that soul mate everyone longed for. The person that understood you in the way no one else did. That one person who knew how to turn your whole day around just by being in their presence. That was what Kevin was for Des. When this thirty something woman said that she gave her whole heart to that Lieutenant, it was the truth. Not only that, but it was gift that she never wanted him to return. Destiny Andre's heart was his and his alone.

Before Kevin, this pilot just went through life; never really trusting others or really opening up. That young man from Alabama changed all of that. Just ask her best friend Ayden Leah. That was the only other person in this female's life that knew her maybe a bit better than Kevin. Ayden could vouch and say that Kevin did change Destiny for the better. Little did everyone know that this captain wore his dog tags along with hers on the chain. It was her way for say, he is still 'with me' though he isn't with me. Whoever said don't give your everything to someone because once they leave you will have nothing, got it right. They had a point there and this young lady was proof of that.

Though standing in this room with the love of her life right now sparked hope back into this deaden heart. Since Kevin left on medical leave and they put their relationship on hold, at part of Destiny was held back as well. If you really know this bright eyed lady, you would be able to see through the half smile. That was all that was being worn since the day he left. A mask was up covering the fact that not being with him was wounding her, but hopefully that was all going to change today. That's what Destiny Andre always lived for; hope. Hope was the determination to keep you going because without it, you would have nothing.

As he was walking away, down toward his quarters he felt a hand grab him and pull him into a side room. He didn't even have to think twice about who it was and once he heard the door close he turned to face Destiny a small smile tugging at his lips. "Hello to you too." He stated with a small chuckle as he crossed his arms over his chest and smiled at her, a small smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "Surprise?" He asked with a small shrug of his shoulders. He was acting like it was no big deal at all. He had planned to surprise her and apparently he did surprise her completely and he loved it to no end. Surprising Destiny was always a great thing indeed.

Kevin's gaze rested on her and he smiled as he looked her over. She looked good, more than good. He thought that she always looked great and right now was no different at all. He was glad to be back. He had been back at the SGC for a week or so now and everything was going great indeed. He had been traveling off-world with a field team on a few recon missions and everything was still going great for him. He was happy, he was glad to be doing the job that he loved now and he had been stationed with Destiny. At least he'd be with someone who he really cared about and he would be providing her with security so that would mean that he would be in charge of not only her safety but the safety of her teammates as well. What better job could he ask for apart from that?

Destiny just couldn't get over this shock. The fact that he had actually done this was just one of complete amazement. Every time that this young woman visited him, it was always asked when he was coming back, or even if he was coming back. Yes this Air force pilot was still pinning after him so very much. Anyone who was close friends with Des could tell you that. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. If anything, everyone would be glad that Kevin was back because now maybe she might actually shut up about him, or at least that's what she thought everyone else would think. It was beyond her how he could keep a secret like this. She was always the one to blurt out everything to him when they were together. Nothing was really kept secret no matter how hard she tried. It was said really but funny at the same time.

There really seemed to be two sides to Destiny Andre, ok maybe three. The one that was on duty; completely serious and focused. The one that was off duty, completely relaxed and just herself through and through. Then there was Des that when being around Kevin was someone completely different, or more herself, depends what way you look at it. She was always so much more happier with him, with a smile that could literally light up a room. It was interesting to see how one person could do that. Whenever he was in the room, it was seriously hard for this pilot to stay focused. A.D.D in the form of love.

"How long have you been back?" asked with a grin that couldn't be wiped off the face no matter how hard you tried. He was back, he was really back. This wasn't a dream or a cruel joke that was being played. Kevin was seriously back. In a matter of seconds, Destiny went from standing there to hurling herself into his arms. "I've missed you Kevin," stated hugging him close not really caring about how awkward this might be. Her emotions were taking control at this point and she wasn't going to stop them.

Kevin always had been good at keeping secrets. That's just who he was. You could trust him with anything and he'd lock it away so deep inside of him that no one would ever know about it, period. It was quite amazing actually how he could go form someone who was completely and utterly focused on nothing more than the military to someone who was calm and serene when he was with his friends or family. Yes, the military had changed him a great deal, more so than he was willing to admit but most of those changes had been for the better. He became a more focused and a more mature individual and he not only became more reliable and had better character moral but when he was working, when he was focused on an assignment he was one of the best at what he did - anyone who had worked with him in the past would tell you that. Kevin was the type of male that you didn't want against you, if anything you wanted him on your side.

"Two weeks, roughly. I've been working with SG-3 for the past couple of weeks getting ready to ship out." He stated calmly with a small shrug of his shoulders as he glanced over at her. "I actually just got back from an off-world mission less than a few hours ago." Kevin had wanted this all to be a surprise for her, he didn't want her to think that he was purposely keeping it from her he just wanted to show up and surprise her and apparently he did just that. "I've missed you too, Destiny. I really have." He responded moments before she practically jumped in his arms. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly, resting his chin on her shoulder and sighed contently.

Destiny Andre was a strong woman and probably one of the best F-302 pilots you could ever find. After learning from the best, how could she not? She was a fierce soldier and a brave captain. When it came to the teammates, it was always them first hands down. No matter how badly injured she might be or how dangerous the situation was, this female would always put them above herself. That's what made Destiny the strong. This vivid auburn lady could face anything that came her way. You would think when being chased down by enemy fighters there was would fear. Well in place of fear, there was an aderline rush. It was almost like a game for this pilot; as if to say chance me if you can. This Captain knew the job and gave it a hundred and ten percent every time. She knew the ins and out of the Air force and how to maneuverer anything that flew in the air, but when it came to matters of the heart? It was like sticking her in the out field of a baseball game when she was meant to be a pitcher. That was why every time being with Kevin, it felt new and different. It was nerve wracking, but exciting at the same time. Being in the air, this pilot knew what to do without having to think about it, but around the man she loved? Destiny always found herself second guessing herself.

That was the thought process in her mind right now. Though it felt so completely right, what if it no longer did for him? What if being away from each other caused too much distance? The same fear that tugged the heart finding out he was really alive months ago was back right now. They had seen each other over the course of the past few months and it always seemed like they were on the same track and still had the same thought process, but what if that changed? What if somewhere along the lines, Destiny had been reading into things deeper than should be and he really wasn't into her anymore? It was hard to think that way, but it something that would have to be addressed sooner or later, especially depending on where he was stationed. As much as she wanted to address this, something was stopping the words from spilling out. Maybe it was for the best.

"Are you going back to what use to be the Delta site? The Illiad? I hear Al is CO of SD-5 and I'm sure he would love to have you," asked looking up but not moving herself. He would have to make the first move because honestly, it had been too long since she had been in his arms.

A lot had happened to Kevin since he had finished his NROTC program at Virginia Tech. He had been put on several assignments around the globe before he was even shipped to the SGC to work. He honestly didn't know what to do or what to think anymore. He had went from a young man who wanted nothing to do with anything outside of the military to a man who had fallen in love with his best friend's wife - er - soon to be ex-wife's best friend but then after he had gotten into the mess he had gotten into and didn't remember anything it had completely exasperated him to no end. That was done and over with though and boy was he glad about it. He had most of his memory back - apart from a few things that were still quite hazy in his mind from when he was captured - but apart from that everything was going great for him. He was finally back where he belonged.

"Actually I got transferred to the Aenid as a Security Officer. They figured with my expertise I would be one of the best suited for the job." He said with a smile as he looked over at her. "How are you doing, honestly?" He asked as he leaned back against the table that was behind him and quirked his eyebrow slightly as he looked down at her. "You look like you've seen a ghost or something else like that. It's kind of eerie in an odd sort of way." He let out a light hearted laugh as he ran his fingers through his 'high and tight' hair before crossing both of his arms over his chest.

"Oh that's cool that you....wait," Destiny paused for a moment when her brain seem to catch up with what had been said. Had she really heard right? Did he really say that he was going to be on the Aeneid? No she had to have heard wrong, but for some reason couldn't get that thought out. This day was just getting better and better. Not only was one of her bestest friends coming onto the task force, but the man that she was still head over heels for was also joining the crew. Talk about one great day. "Did you say the Aeneid? Are you really joining the crew?!" exclaimed staring at Kevin wide eyed and full of shock all over again. He had so many tricks up his sleeves that she didn't know how to keep up anymore. Once again the young woman hurled herself back into his arms at a lose for words. What words could be said right now? The face and this expression was enough for right now.

After a few minutes, Destiny finally took a step back and shrugged. "I'm....OK?" stated not really knowing how to explain how she felt. Should this pilot really admit that some days she was really down because of him? Would that seem desperate or would it help repair whatever had been damage in their relationship? This captain was all about taking risks, but this was one risk that it scared her to take. "Some days are better than others. Missions exactly help because they distract me from what is really going on in my mind."

Biting the bottom lip, silence hung between the two for a few seconds till the XO made a decision. "I miss you Kevin, I miss us. I know it might sound stupid, but I can't get over you. Thinking about what we had and being so far away from you is why some days were really hard. Ask anyone on the crew because they would tell you just how much I look forward to the leaves I was given...just to see you. I don't know how you feel anymore but I do know my own heart and I still love you, probably always will. I tried moving on, I really did. I thought about maybe trying to go on a date with Cromin, but you always came into my mind whenever I thought about that," explained taking a moment before continuing, "Even if you no longer feel the same and want to just stay friends, just know there will never be anyone else Kevin. My heart will always be yours because I can never give it to someone else who isn't you." There she had finally said what was always on her mind even when she gave to visit. It was all out in the open. Now it was just up to him to take it how he wanted it.

Kevin stood there, waiting for her to catch onto what he was saying. He needed to see her reaction, if she was going to have a good one that is. His thoughts proved him right and he started laughing when she freaked out. "Yes ma'am. I'm leaving when all of you do." He said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her gently but still somewhat firmly. "I'm going to be one of the security officers on board so you're stuck with me, Captain." He joked, a wide grin spreading across his face as he looked down at her.

Kevin knew that she wasn't as good as she was trying to come off as. Kevin knew her better than that. When she began to speak again he knew that she was finally going to say what was really on his mind. He leaned back against the table behind him and listened to her quietly, nodding his head slightly as she spoke so that she knew he was listening and grasping onto her every word. He honestly didn't know what to say at first. He still loved her, that much was certain but he had figured that she had gotten over it. He never had been good with words so he thought something else might suffice to show her how he felt. Stepping forward he placed a hand under her chin, tilted her head up so that her face was closer to his own and leaned down and placed a soft kiss to her lips.
