"From what we can tell, an Alkesh operated by the Jaffa Nation is stranded about two systems away," Harrison addressed the department heads. "We're en route now, but this is what needs to happen. When we arrive we'll do a quick scan of the ship, and depending on conditions, the pilots and security detachment will beam over to investigate. So far, we're not getting any response from our attempts to contact the vessel ... which is probably not a good sign. On other notes, we've got a number of issues aboard the ship to address which the crew will deal with in the meantime. Questions?"

Tony looked at Harrison, "Sir, while the space jockeys and their pets search the ship, I'd like to begin work on repairing the 302's and re-arming them in-case this is one of those well planned Ba'al tricks", he says as he slides a list he had formulated with everything that needed to be done, the list was around the 10 page mark, and that was half of what he originally had written, "That there is what needs fixing", then he spins he chair around to stare down Black, "Oh and Black! Heres a list I've made that I'm sure you'd like to show your pilots on what to improve, so I don't get as much damage the next time they land on my deck", he states as he slides a mountain of binded papers towards Black, "Sir, with permission, I'd like to get my team started ASAP", Tony says, jumping from his seat.

Tim graciously took the papers from Tony and dismissed himself. "Hansford, Ayden and Harrision. If you will excuse me I must as Hansford here has asked convey these new maneuvers to my Pilots and give them their new mission briefing" and with that walked out of the room and towards the Pilot's lounge.

Pilot's Lounge


Tim walked in to the room at which he had left only half an hour ago. He throw the papers in the bin and in a rough said to the nearest pilot "Burn that god forsaken pile of paper will you!". He then went and poured him self a hot cup and sat down. He drank a bit and then calmed down before responding to anyone. Tim then heard one of the pilots ask, "Sir what's wrong?". Tim sighed. "That Wombat of a Warrant Officer had the nerve to tell me how to teach yo to improve. The pig headed fool has no training or combat time and he has the nerve to tell me how to do my job" Tim took another sip then sighed again. "No use letting it get to me, Any way we have our orders people. The Colonel has told me that we are to assist the Security team on a S and R mission to a free Jaffa ship. It hasn't responded to any messages from us, so we are going in to find out whats up. Okay people Five rest and free time then at 1440 hours I want you in the hanger ready for departure. Okay dismissed " with this he picked up his cup of coffee and walked out towards his quarters / office.

As the cruiser jumped out of hyperspace, Harrison called out, "Scan the ship." The crew complied and a response came, "Three lifesigns, faint, and an ... energy reading." Wrinkling his brow, Jonathon replied, "What kind of energy?" The crew member responded, "Unknown ... system can't describe it."

Looking to the group assembled of the security team and pilots, Harrison said, "You've got a green light, folks. Good luck ... " The Lieutenant Colonel nodded to another person on the bridge, and the pilots and security team disappeared in the shimmering blue light of an Asgard energy beam.

When Harrison turned to Ayden and ordered her to wait she simply turned on her heel to face him. "Yes sir?" She asked waiting for some sort of response.

Ayden stood beside Harrison on the bridge, waiting for the security teams and the pilots to be beamed down. With a slight nod of her head she gave them a reassuring smile as she looked at their determined faces. This was going to be an interesting day alright. "God speed."

The meeting had interrupted the smooth flow of Andy's to-do list and had left him faintly irritable and snappish. However, as soon as he had embroiled himself in work once again in the seemingly never-ending task list, the bad mood (not to mention the headache) faded away.

He had spent a larger part of the afternoon recalibrating a number of core systems and had been rewarded by seeing the efficiency measurements of the engine increase exponentially. He still hadn't found time to visit the Asgard Commander, although he'd added it onto the list.

When the away team was beamed away, he was finally able to sit down and take a breath. He'd been on the go for over twelve hours without so much as a sandwich and it was a relief to be sitting down, admittedly at the small desk he had to himself here in the main engine core, and take a break for a while.

He tapped his communicator and addressed the Asgard Commander.

"Commander Idun? This is Staff Sergeant Buchanan. Would you have time for me to meet with you and discuss what you did with the shields earlier?"

Flight Deck - Communications Room

Kale just finished fixing the other two banks that need repairing, bank 4 Needed a pretty close to a rebuild as is was almost non-functional, and that Kale needed to replace most of the capacitors and resistors as well as the tuner as well as the main board as some or the circuits were in very bad shape "Well at least that one is done now and bank 9 was only a moderate repair" Kale thought to himself as he just fixed the last one which meant the some of the capacitors and resistors as well as he had to resolder some of the existing components as they were not soldered properly.

Kale clicked on his radio after he powered the final two banks up and said "Kale to Flight Deck Control Room.. All repairs are completed, now what is next??" after clicking his radio off Kale did some final checks on the other banks while he waited for a reply..

Destiny sat in the Pilot Lounge sipping the black substance from her mug while running over the files of the Icarus crew. So being the XO did have its perks. The other pilots gathered in the room, waiting for Black's return seeing how he was called off for a meeting with the other CO's of the ship.

Though her eyes were dancing over the words on the pages in front of her, her mind wasn't registering any of it. She had found out that Ayden was becoming the Commander of the Icarus. Her best friend who she hadn't seen for ages was once again to be her commander. She wouldn't have it any other way. She trusted Ayden with her life but her fear was how would they interract off duty? It had been months since the two best friends had seen each other. Destiny left without barely say a good bye her. She sighed, rubbing her face but shook her head. The time to think about that was not now.

Thankfully at that moment, Black returned. She jerked her head up, raising an eyebrow at him, and closed the files. She chuckled slightly hearing that Hansford was at it again then listened intently when he gave them the run down of the meeting. She sighed. It's never a dull moment here, she thought getting up and leaving the room to prepare herself for their new mission.

Destiny stood with the rest of the team, looking up at both Harrison and Ayden. She listened and nodded. Her eyes rested longer on Ayden. She gave her old friend a small smile then watched as the Icarus disappeared from her line of sight.

As the energy subsided, she looked around, taking off the safety of her gun, then looked at the others. She rested her gaze on her commander and sighed. "Orders sir."

For reasons still unknown, the flight deck crew had been summoned by Chief Hansford to the Engineering room, which was itself filling up with personnel from the engineering department. Down on the flight deck, Lacey and his detachment of Boatswains had moved the F-302s into their launch positions, refueled them and serviced the launching and arresting equipment; for all intensive purposes, as far as he was concerned the birds were ready to go back out into the fray. Of course they'd need pilots, ammunitions and possibly repairs, but such things were beyond his scope of concerns.

All around him the engineering room was buzzing. Although only a single room; microscopic in comparison to the engineering workings of the vessel, it served as the nerve center for the Icarus; from here all systems could be monitored and in most cases repaired. Only the most complex and mechanical system required human interaction, though with a ship that represented the pinnacle of human ingenuity, it always helped to have some able hands around.

Although unsure, Lacey could only assume they were assembled here to co-ordinate a search of the ship, which to quote the manual, was to 'ensure the ship was hazard and fire free' - always two things to strive for. Standing toward the back of the room, Tommy waited for orders to be issued.

Tony had made sure everyone he needed was in the room, "Ok, I'll make this part short, a Jaffa ship has been found, and a team is being sent over now to investigate, I'll take questions at the end so don't bother asking now. I have also made a report on what I've seen that needs fixing, now, while those cocky pilots are gone, our attention will be focused on making sure the 302's are in full working order, I've noticed about 3 F-302's with malfunctioning parts or ruited navigations systems, this includes auto-landing, I need a group of engineers to make sure that this is fixed, and I want a report on my desk within the hour on what's going on, everyone else will be going around the ship making sure its in tip-top order, I don't need anyone walking around like they don't have a job, and be sure to know that I'm always watching EVERYONE on this nice ship", he paused for a second, looking down at the notes on his tablet, "I need decks 3 and 5 checked for any malfunctions, I went up there earlier and there were wires and things everywhere, I have no idea if it was Russian error or not, but honestly, I don't care, now flight crew, your main job is to make sure the 302's are in working order, fixed and tip-top, have their ammunition loaded, have them fueled and make sure they're good enough for our cocky pilot friends, everyone else should know their job, I've e-mailled instructions to every person I see as a leader in their branch, now, questions?", Tony finished with, after realising he gave the best speech he'd done so far.

Tim looked around the ships bridge as the energy subsided. He clicked his MP-5's safety off and then walked around. He turned and looked directly at Patrick, the Security team's leader. "Okay so I suggest that the pilots and I head one way while you and your team go the other. If we split up we cover more ground. Just stay in radio contact, all of you" he said eyeing the entire group.

Tim and the pilots walked around the bridge of the Alkesh. Tim couldn't see much through the torch but saw enough to tell him that some sort of explosion happened here. He keyed his radio to the Icarus, "Colonel's, The power is off but from what I can see on the bridge there was either a massive explosion that hit the inside or some sort of fire fight occurred here"

"Roger that, I'll keep in touch, Colonels". He let go of his radio and continued to look around. One of the pilots touched a pad and the power groaned on, revealing the entire situation. "That's worse than I thought" he said looking around at the carnage of the bridge. "Strange that their isn't a single body. Dead or alive".

OOC: I'm going to move as along as per the mission outline, found conveniently within the Locker Room. Pilots and Security personnel are with Tim aboard the Alkesh, Engineers and Deck Crew are doing rounds of the ship, leading to them finding the act of sabotage.

Moving from the engineering hub, Lacey and the members of the engineering and flight deck crews began to weave their way throughout the ship, carrying out routine system checks. Computer diagnostic programs and sub routines could ensure the software of the ship was all in working and functioning order, but when it came to hardware, the binary was practically useless. It could point out that a corridor had lost it's lighting, but not ascertain if it was lose wiring, a faulty globe, or simply someone flicking a switch which had caused the problem. Eyes and ears were their best tools of the trade; it seems the more complex and automated a machine came, the more it relied to human interactions to maintain working order.

So, flash light in hand, Tommy was checking out the engineering areas located toward the stern of the vessel, looking for the problems and signs of trouble that Earth or Asgard sensors couldn't detect. A lot of their work was preemptive; if one spotted a lose conductor and realigned it during down time, the risk of it rattling loose and shutting down a critical system during the heat of battle was lessened. It was also the same line as the Army and Marines insistence on constantly maintaining their weapons systems; be good to your hardware, and it'll be good to you.

Satisfied with the condition of the forward reserve air scrubbers, Tommy retreated to the main engineering hallway, greeted by the joint engineering-deck crew team that was in the process of completing their rounds of this section of the ship. "Reserve scrubs are good," he declared to the group, receiving similar green-lights from neighboring subsystems. "Any hiccups?"

Tony had been scanning the systems for any flaws in the ships main coding, he had found and corrected a few small things, but he still hadn't found anything massive, "Any hiccups?"[/i], he heard Lacey say, "About all I've found are small coding errors, until now", he exclaims as he goes back to the beginning of the code error, "This code here has been modified, almost as if someone deleberatly tried to access the mainframe by editing the code, I think they almost succeeded, but the code is all muddled, and it would take some picking to find out what it's origins are, it couldn't have been written aboard the ship, it would've had to..", he paused, looking at the Asgard console, "Unless", he exclaims as he walks upto the console moving the Asgard stones around into an all but familiar position, a small hatch opening before him, he crouches down to look inside, "Here would be the problem Mr. Lacey, someone with knowledge of Asgard systems could be the only one to do this, I myself am one person, Idun as well, but I myself have no idea who else, unless they are Ba'al or one of his clones", he says as he pulls out a flashlight looking at the device hooked upto the main conduit, "I suggest we inform Idun of this ever so unfortunate problem", he says as he reaches up and moves the stones again, the screen behind it lighting up, he pulls up a schematic of the console, showing the current internal structure of both the code and the device, "From my knowledge, that isn't Asgard text, looks like a complex javascript if you ask me, I mean, its not proper Asgard writing, its weird.. I think we really need Idun down here ASAP, this could be huge", he says staring at Lacey.

Sadly, although Tommy's search of the reserve air scrubbers had come up with nothing, the crew chief had found sometime within the ships coding. Tony trailed off, deep in though, staring into his monitor. Coding had never been Lacey's thing; he knew enough to get by, to run diagnostics and carry out rudimentary predictions and calculations, but when asked to dabble in Asgard coding he came up blank. This turn of events was both a problem as curse - on one hand they now knew there was a problem and where it was located, but on the other hand, changed to the code would have to have been done by someone on board the ship. Whether they were still on board was a valid question, one which Tommy wasn't sure he wanted answered.

Tony continued. "Here would be the problem Mr. Lacey, someone with knowledge of Asgard systems could be the only one to do this, I myself am one person, Idun as well, but I myself have no idea who else, unless they are Ba'al or one of his clones. I suggest we inform Idun of this ever so unfortunate problem." Nodding, Tommy stepped back into the hallway, activating his radio and contacting the bridge.

Returning, Tony passed on his latest update. "From my knowledge, that isn't Asgard text, looks like a complex javascript if you ask me, I mean, its not proper Asgard writing, its weird.. I think we really need Idun down here ASAP, this could be huge." Lacey passed on the message from Engineering. "Idun's busy at the moment; he said he'll be here ASAP but no idea when that is. Said do what you can until he shows up." Ahhh, Idun. The ship's resident Asgard had quite a reputation for his his loathing of human behaviors, which frankly Tommy found hysterical. Nothing better than stirring the little grey fellow up on a slow day.

The ship rocked violently, shaking Tommy for his half-day dream. What the frak!? It didn't feel like weapons fire; he'd been on this ship when it was under fire more times than he'd like to remember. It wasn't an internal explosion, just a sudden jolt. Could have been engines going offline, the hull collapsing, or worst...

Tim walked off the bridge and into the hallway. He touched his radio again. "Security team come in. I repeat Security Team come in, where in christ are you guys". He let go again. Patrick's team hadn't cheacked in on the agreed time and now they couldn't be reached at all. Tim had started to get worried, he turned back to the waiting pilots. "Okay pilots looks like we have to go and find the other team. Lets go" he said taken point of the group.

It had been quiet, too quiet, for Destiny's liking. Something wasn't right here. Where was the welcoming committee for them as they entered an enemy ship? She gritted her teeth, keeping her eyes peeled and her senses up high. Her eyes scanned the halls for any signs of something that would be, out of the ordinary.

As she heard Black radio for the Security team, she gulped when she heard silence on the other line. Nothing whatever so ever. No static, or beeps, nothing; just pure silence. She looked back at Black with the same expression on her face. "Could we split up sir? It would cover more ground that way," she suggested but immediately thought how stupid that idea was.

Just was she was about, so say something else something from the corner of her eye caught her attention. She whirled around, pointing her gun in the direction but saw nothing. "I swear I just saw something moving down there," she said aloud, taking a few steps toward the place where she saw movement coming from then stopped looking back at the others.
