Approaching Meeting
Argolis
At the front of the pack, Kent walked and skimmed over the mission folder in his hands. Held within was summaries of the races that were scheduled to attend the trade talks, and even though he had studied most of them over the past twelve months, Kent was reading up to make sure he was on top of the ball game. If things went sour and no one came to their aid... well, Kent didn't want to think about what would happen.
The Alcarans were scheduled to be here, and Kent could still remember when he'd been part of the team who had made first contact with the advanced civilization. Their technology was rather advanced - Kent didn't understand the specifics - but the Alcarans seemed to focus mostly on defensive technologies, designed to protect their home world from the Olympians, and allow their technological advancement to their current level. They had a sizable fleet stationed at their home world, but it's mandate was defense, not offense. They'd make an invaluable ally, but they'd be hard to turn.
Next was the Nemeans, a small private tribe, but with warriors of skill Kent couldn't begin to comprehend. They'd come to the aid of the expedition in the past, and the expedition had freed their tribe from oppression twice within the past twelve months. Also their support was not guaranteed, Kent was counting on it.
At 18 foot high and covered with think leather hide, a Giganite presence on the battlefield could turn to tide of the battle, but they were still primitive, and communication and diplomacy were their weak points as a people. Hopefully if the others turned and sided with the expedition, the Giganites would follow suit.
Sadly, the Amazonians were tied up with their own problems and unable to attend the meeting; their absence would be felt, with or without the assistance of the other species. Kent continued to walk and read, slowly leading the group toward the meeting ground.
