 Who are you... really?
« Thread Started on Apr 7, 2007, 12:12pm »

I just realized that even thought I've been running this RPG since November 2005, I don't know much about you, and most of you mightn't know anything about me either! So here - if you'd like to - please post a paragraph about YOU, not your character!

Jay: the real Troy Loveridge
I'm actually nothing like Troy. I'm a 20 year old Uni student, studying my second year of my Bachelor of Media degree at the University of Adelaide. I'm from the country, I don't like on a farm as such but there's only 1,500 in my hometown, and the nearest 'major' town of 65,000 is half an hour away. I live at a residential college when I'm at Uni and love every minute of it. I've got some awesome friends and a great girl, who taught me the motto I live my life by - I live for the times I'll never remember with the friends I'll never forget!

First Stargate ep I ever watched was 'Politics' in season one and I've loved it ever since. I didn't like Atlantis when it started, but after watching season 9 and 10 of SG-1 I started to drift more towards Atlantis. I was a member of Ryan's old Showtime site, and an active member of the SGC alliance of Ausgate.net for a number of years. Nowadays, I'm focusing on Stargate Delta and a second Stargate RPG which is currently in development.

Jax: the real Robert Walker / Jax Connolly

I'm a college student, and am studying for my Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciene, working towards an eventual law degree. In October, I leave for Basic Military Training for the United States Air Force. When I complete Basic, I will be attending what is dubbed as "Superman School", the training to become and Air Force Pararescue operator. The total schooling is close to two years, after which I will be assigned to Patrick AFB in Florida for Search & Rescue / Recovery Operations for the USAF and the manned space program at Kennedy Space Center.

For more info on Pararescue, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pararescue

As far as the rest of me goes, I'm married to my lovely mate of over three years now, who is also joining the Air Force for Public Affairs. I love Stargate (both series), as well as the shows MI-5 (Spooks in the UK), Boston Legal, Las Vegas, 24, The Unit, Criminal Minds, Numb3rs, Jericho, MacGyver, Knight Rider, all the Star Trek series, The Pretender, and other cancelled shows.

Renee: The Real Katrina Logan

All of you going to college and bettering your education, I commend you highly for I didn't have that chance. Yeah, I'm a little older than most here, but not much. I only attended college for a few art courses, but never had the finances to continue an education. But now, I work at home which is so nice to have. With gas prices on the rise, it's nice to know I'm not fighting traffic and my pocket to get to work. So, my career so to speak, is working for a company that contracts work out to various entertainment companies (Nascar, WB, theCW, etc.) to work as a moderator for their community forums. It is fun and the reason I'm online so much. :D

My personal life is being married to my loving husband and have two beautiful girls ages 10 and 7. We have a new puppy of 5 months old that we acquired free from a friend and it really helped to heal the loss of our 15 year old Shetland Sheepdog, whom we lost 3 days before Christmas last year. I lost my 15 year old Tabby cat one year prior, so it has been rough. Our new puppy is a black lab/german short haired mix and she is very active and sweet. My real life is dedicated to my family and coming up this summer we look forward to our time out on the lake in our 25' Pursuit swimming in the bay.

We actually began watching Stargate on the Sci-fi channel by watching the reruns about 5 years ago. We are caught up and now we are anxiously awaiting these last 10 episodes where I know I'll be bawling by the end of them. Don't want to see it end. :( We started watching Atlantis from the beginning and I wasn't fond of it, but McKay and Shepherd grew on me and now I can't wait for the next season.

I love to watch Sci-fi and have a ton of shows and movies I like. If it's fantasy, sci-fi, or comic related, we're their at the movie theatre in a heartbeat. On television its LOST, Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Smallville, Supernatural, Deal or No Deal, Are you smarter than a 5th grader, Stargate, and Battlestar Galactica. If I had a choice to bring back some older shows, they would definitely be: The Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, Simon and Simon, Knightrider, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Riptide, Magnum PI, Xena, Hercules, and the old Battlestar Galactica.

Ok, I'm long winded, so there you have it. ;D

CHRIS/ The Real Chris Hatfield

I am an eighteen year old senior in High School. I seem to be the youngest here so far. I am preparing to enter Northern Michigan University and I am going for a masters in Criminal Justice with a focus in Forensic Science. I deceided on choosing this career path after a family member of mine died and the forensic investigator who looked into the case was killed in an accident shortly after he closed it. I felt bad about his death and therefore decided to walk in his footsteps and continue his great legacy.

In my spare time I Hike, fish, hunt, build, tinker with anything I can get my hands on, and watch TV. My favorite shows are all of the CSI, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, The Pretender, The Dresden Files, The old Sherlock Holmes series from Grenada, and Jake 2.0.

I have been known to earn myself the nicknames of Sherlock Holmes, and Harry Dresden from my friends and teachers from my abstract way of thinking.

There you go, me....in a nut shell.

Ryan: The real Gordy

Well I guess I should go with the trend. Anyway, I'm 17 years old and I'm a high-school junior. I'm following the family trend of joining the military, and am looking into both ROTC and the Academies after high school. For the Air Force route I'm looking into either piloting or a slot with the CCTs. Was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Malvern for most of my life. Just moved two years ago though out of state.

Got my private pilot's license and am in Civil Air Patrol (Air Force Auxiliary) as a Chief Master Sgt. I actually just went through a Pararescumen course at Kirtland AFB a year ago. Other than that though, I take time for sports and of course television. After all, how could I live without Stargate and BSG?

Nicknames? Meh, I got a few, though none I wish to disclose. :P

Amanda, The Real Lola

I am a 20 year old uni stupid from Victoria Australia and am in my final year, studying Hospitality Management. I'm a country girl and aim to head up to Alice Springs once I finish uni. As far as TV shows and stuff, I was into stargate from seeing the movie as I have had a fascination with Ancient Egypt since I was a child, I also like Atlantis, Pretender, NCIS, Boston Legal, but don't watch too much TV anymore as I am more of the type that listens to music - and being a uni stupid, getting on the piss lol

This is an awesome idea. I think the more we know on each other the better we uderstand each other. Makes play more fun and misunderstanding harder to have.

I am a little older than the rest. I am in my early 30s. I have done a lot in my life. I am the survivior of an abusive marriage that I did not leave soon enough to prevent the death of my only child Jesse.

I have done some lectures on the subject passive agressibe abuse from the standpoint of a former victim. Two years ago I was honored to be the key note speaker at a symposium in Kenya.

I am a cancer survior. I finished chemo last november for a Pilocytic Astrocytoma.

I am a non practicing nurse midwife currently working as Labor/delivery nurse backup Scn nursery nurse.

I have published research papers in obsterical papers

I am proud of who I am and what I have been through to get here.

I am also a bumbling clutz who can't spell or type to save mylife.

Hugs

Elena Renee (just rae unless your mad with me)

Lou, the real Jerry Garcia

Ok, so you guys now make me feel real old. Let's just say that I'm over 50. I'm actually a veteran of the US Navy, I served during the end of the Viet Nam war. Stargate is my relaxation technique, so I live on site in my free time. The Deadman/Jerry Garcia names are because I 'm the biggest Grateful Dead fan there is. I've actually got 2 auxillary Hard drives (320 GB) filled with live Dead shows from the earliest appearance of the band in 1965 until Jerry Garcia died in 1995. Am a veteran of well over 250 shows.

Some of the military stuff in my Jerry bio is actually true. I won't say what parts, since mystery is the spice of life.

As far as the more personal stuff, I'm divorced and the father of a great 9 year old boy. My ex and I adopted him shortly after he was born, and we travelled to Vladivostok Russia to get him. We spent 18 days in a city that most Russians were never able to go to because the Russian Pacific Fleet was based here. If you need anything else, you can ask.

Kayla: The real Cara Coyle

Hi, I'm Kayla and I am 20. I live in the USA, but am Canadian. I am currently not in school, don't have a job and live with my parents. Trust me, all of the above is NOT my fault. The good ole US of A requires a SS number to do anything, and well, I don't have one. SO I am trying to figure a way to go back to Canada. It will be hard to do because I don't have any photo ID. I've been living in the US for 8 years now.

I eventually want to go to film school and get my foot into the movie industry. I just love movies!!!

Frank - Donnell Farley & Ethan DeVoss in one!

I go by Frank, first name Francis, born in the Philippines, living in the USA. Named after my dad's grandfathers. I'm 19 yr old freshman attending the New Mexico Military Institute and can't wait to go home! Majoring in criminal justice I plan on becoming an Air Marshal while earning my commission in the US Army. I'm currently just a PFC in the Army. I purify water and kill people, without the killing part. Never been deployed, but won't mind if it ever happens.

What else?

I escorted a stripper to prom!

Wanna know more? Just PM me.

T.C.-The real Will O'Malley

Hey all! Anyway, T.C. is just my nick-name, not my real name. It stand for 'time check', which I was given during Marching Band season when I was the only tenor saxophone to have a watch on. I really only go by that, so that's as good as my real name. I'm currently a high school sophomore in Silicon Valley, California. I love to write, and am currently writing a book series called "Surreality", the first book is called "Temporal" and it's 82 pages long. Another obvious passion of mine is making graphics. For this, I blame my father. He's a photographer who has owned every photoshop to ever exist...and one day I just started playing with it (with his permission of course). Several billion crap graphics later, I'm not half bad and enjoy using it to 'express myself', since I don't do poetry, and I only draw comics. My comic series is called "Spam and Tofu" and it's mostly inspired by my interesting friends and life. It actually has a cult following at my high school, where it's going to be published in the paper this June ;D Yes, I'm Californian...meaning I say dude...a lot...but I don't surf (yet) and I do go to the beach a lot...
So yeah, that's me in a few sentences 8-)
