Holding Chamber
Unknown Time
Aleksandr awoke as he always did for the past five months; floating in a Nidhogg holding chamber. The chamber was a large sphere membrane, filled with a thick slimy liquid which was hard to swim or move through. Each person in the tank was stripped naked - the bugs had something against clothes it seems - and had a re-breather stuffed in their mouth the stop them from drowning. Some were awake, moving and swimming around though unable to speak due to each other due o the re-breather in their mouths, while others floating in varying levels of unconsciousness.
Kamarov wished he was still unconscious.
He'd been in one of these chambers a while back, when the Task Force had explored Quadrant N-97. That time they'd only been in the holding chamber for a day or two, not the five months they were currently enduring. Every day was the same; wake up in the chamber, go though a day of hard labor or torture - sometimes both - and be returned to the chamber when you could stand no more. They all had a short sleep - never long enough - before starting all over again. It was taking a toll on all of them, and the Russian wondered how much longer he could last.
He spotted someone moving through the thick goo; someone else was awake. Kamarov slowly swam near, holding to have someone to keep him company, even if they couldn't speak. This had been a hard experience on all of them, and he figured things weren't going to get better any time soon.
Little did he know, elsewhere in the prison ship, rescue was on it's way, in the form of SD-5.
