Captain Destiny Andre strode down the long hall, two guards walking on either side, with a stride that showed one of confidence; not one who has been placed under countless torture for the past five months. While all the fellow teammates were under going countless torture day after day, barely any communication between them, this captain was having a different kind of captivity. It wasn't really the life of luxury that most would want, but compared to what the others were facing? It could be called that.

From the first moment of being captured, the Queen had sights set on Destiny. A goal to reach that she only believed this strong brunette could face. It was clear the moment that Des was brought into the holding chamber. While everyone else was being stripped down, Des was getting hauled somewhere else.

Flashback

Destiny's mind flashed in and out of consciousness as the guards dragged her bare body against the hard, rough, concrete floor. Her clothes had been stripped and weapons taken away, like with all the others. A rebreather was shoved into the small mouth, causing the female to start coughing at the sudden placement. Her head hung as it was pounding none stop, due to the fact of being clobbered by something. It felt like even breathing right now was hard to do.

Slowing trying to open her eyes, pain shot through the small body at the brightness of the light and strength it took to do such a small movement. The vision was blurred and hazy, only making out basic shapes. From what could be seen through this kind of vision, it was clear she was heading back into the holding cell the Task Force had been placed under a year ago. Struggling to resit was meaningless, especially when the body was too weak to do anything. Closing the eyes once more, Destiny embraced for the worse, knowing it was to come over the course of the next few days, or however long they were going to be here.

Hearing the chamber door open, the captain felt her body being thrown towards the prison cell, the ooze that would take ages to get out of her hair, but then for some reason the movement stopped. The young woman's eyes slowly opened in confusion, trying to make out what was going on, through proving to be hard with all the pain.

"Don't throw that one in with the others," a voice entered through the clouded mind. It was a voice that the pilot barely recognized from being held in captivity a year ago. This time, the soldier didn't have any strength to talk back. All the energy had been zapped from this body making anything impossible to do. "Take and place her in another room. I have something special in mind for this one," the voice sneered.

Before Des could even protest, the door to the chamber closed, and the female's body was once again being dragged against the cold, hard floor. As much as she wanted to look over the shoulder, to see the others, it was pointless; from being too weak and the door to the holding room already closed. That was the last time Destiny Andre saw her friends, or at least, the last time those hazel eyes would see them, and remember them, as friends.

The door opened to the majestic throne room as the female walked in. Her brown hair shiny and pinned up into a high ponytail that came out like a messy bun. Her new clothes were all black leather with the pants being tight, clinging to every one of her curves, but making movement easy, almost airy. Her top came just to the breast line, two strips from the beginning of the shoulder line connected with choker that engulfed most of the neck.

There was a new demeanor in Destiny's eyes showing there was a switch, a change, that was not like this captain at all. As the three approached the Queen, the pilot went down on one knee, head down facing the floor. "My Queen," she said softly, in a voice of honor, loyalty, and admiration. In the mind, the young woman could feel a smile, one that said her queen was please. "Arise my Renita, there is work to be done," the caring voice flooded the brunette's mind, slowly standing from her spot. "Whatever you ask of me, my queen, I will do it a thousand times over. I am your servant," Destiny said in pure allegiance. A captain who once would give her life to the very team being held prisoner by this monster, now was swearing her life away to another. Something changed over the course of five months for this female. The only questions remaining were how, and was Des too far gone to be saved?

The membrane at the top of the sphere opened as though it had a mind of its own, thanks to the organic material from which it was made. A looming silhouette of a Nidhogg scientist loomed above the surface as it and another Nidhogg dropped a body back into the goo. As soon as it fully submerged, the membrane resealed itself, locking them inside their prison once more.

Limp and motionless, but slightly concious, Samarra drifted down into the goo, watching half-aware as the silhouettes moved away. There was no use fighting it. For the longest time, she would attempt to beat herself against the membrane, or wait at the top for someone to open the membrane and try to fight her way out. The Nidhogg were not amused. After all, that's what she did for the first several tortures of their time here, which caused her 'punishments' to be far worse. The once fiery, hot-tempered captain was broken. Now, whenever they took her, it wasn't with a fight or with submission, but with apathy. Many of the others while in the tank tried to comfort one another as best as they could with the breathers in their mouths. Optimism. Hope. Something they could hold on to.

Marra wasn't convinced. In fact, she didn't bother thinking about anything these days. She was hollowed out, with very little of her old self left in place. It wasn't all gone, but it was too weak to even try to make an appearance. That small sliver of her former self tried to hold onto the hope that their message was delivered. But, time had passed so slowly. There was no telling how long they had been here. Does it matter anyway? the strongest of the voices of herself said, You'll die here.

As she descended down through the goo, her skin came in contact with something, or actually, someone below her. She did not bother to turn her head to see who it was. Half aware of her surroundings, she shifted her position slowly and ever so slightly, just so she wouldn't touch them, into a loose fetal position. The bubbles produced by her rebreather escaped and were also captured in the goo. Frozen. Stuck. Just like them.

She was out of tears, out of anger, out of panic. Out of every emotion possible. She felt as though she were the living-dead. Why hadn't she just taken out her rebreather and ended this yet? It would be so easy...

A hand reached out and touched her upper arm, almost as if reading her mind. Who was it? She turned to see them, but couldn't make out their face quite yet. Her own hand, feeble, scarred and bruised from the torture and experiments performed by their captors, lifted slightly to touch the hand on her arm.

Though still very weak and almost gone, there was still hope in her. A little shread of hope. That was all they had. And they couldn't lose it..yet.

The briefing had been short and to the point as Frank could have made it under the circumstances. Not that it went over two hours or anything, but it still had been detailed. Commander Garcia’s team was recalled to a rescue mission for the lost members of Task Force. The said team had gone MIA sometime back and their location hadn’t been known till now. She had been aware that everything had been done to find them, once their location was found, Delta’s best team was send to bring the crew home and alive.

Win half an hour she knew they were going to put in all that past months effort and team work to get the job done. Given the vastness of the enemy, Jerry had made it clear that there were no room for errors. They couldn’t afford them. Their lives and the ones who required rescues lives depended on how well this was going to be pulled off; that alone made her stomach play up.

To calm herself down Pooja leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Her hands snaked their way to interlope their fingers, together out of habit.

One thing she hated the most was the waiting game. Even Marah wasn’t here to kill time with by talking. She was all in all the only female on her fiancé’s team.

When he came closer he noticed the individual and Miss Ely - Abi - the crew's computer and coding expert. Like everyone else she was here, floating around in the goo minus her clothes, waiting for their next batch of interrogation. Of all the crew members who had arrived here, only about half were left; some had been taken out to be questioned and never returned. Whether the bugs had tortured them to death, moved them to another part of the ship, or where just keeping them separated the scare the crew was beyond Alek's knowledge, and he was just glad those he knew and cared about the most were all still here.

Abi placed a hand on Kamarov's shoulder, a reassuring gesture, one of the few thinks they could communicate while in the goo. Kamarov nodded his head more than was needed, over compensating for the lack of speech, and patted her on the back. He'd lost all modesty over the last few months, and to be honest was more used to seeing his crew mates unclothed than clothed. Not too long ago, such level of undress would have been highly awkward or against regulations, but now it was just part of everyday life.

Light appeared through the thick membrane that formed the barrier between the captives and their captors, signaling the only door to the room which housed the holding chamber was open. The Nidhogg were coming, as they did everyday. Alek tapped his left wrist were his watch should have been, indicating 'It's that time of the day again. Outside, the silhouettes of the bugs could be seen as they slowly circled the sphere of goo, picking out the next captive to take away from another round of mental questioning.

They had been in this pit of hell for longer then Abi could remember. In theory, she should have been used to being constantly surrounded by this odd fluid, and breathing through the rebreather – rather then dealing with gravity and actual air. She still held the odd feeling of constant drowning. Her body protested her taking a sip of the mixture of gases, which kept her alive – thanks to the feeling of the fluid around her nude body. It was almost a girl-knee-jerk-reaction to not breathe when underwater…underfluid, rather. This natural resistance to breathing normally in this horrible human-aquarium, caused an extra sense of unease to crawl through Abi’s insides. An extra something that she really didn’t need.

This entire thing seemed like some lucid dream that was laced with horror after every blink. It didn’t go away when she pinched herself. It didn’t even really go away when she slept. She’d have nightmares about it. There was no real escape from this place. Asleep, awake, in pain, trying to relax…this was an inescapable reality.

When she was first thrown into this sphere of pain, it had been unbelievably awkward with her crewmates…naked. Nothing was a mystery anymore. No that wasn’t a birthmark. Oh – they have a tattoo. Hmm…that’s bigger then I thought it’d be. Even with adverting gazes and attempts to cover themselves, the people of Bubble-Land all knew each other on a level that was almost a bit uncomfortable. After this apparent eternity, though, it became as normal as walking around in clothes. And only one amusing thought has Abi since this entire thing went down.

If a true genius is always nude – we must be truly brilliant.

…not that she could share this revelation with anyone.

As horrific and painful as time was here, it was also a bit monotonous. Torture and labor. Labor and torture. Maybe one without the other. Maybe one twice, with the other thrown in on the side. The monotony was actually hurting Abi’s positive thoughts that someone would ever come to rescue them – or anything was ever to change. It was wearing on her. Grating on her positive mind. She just needed a break. A change. Even if they snapped and killed all the prisoners, Abi would be happier then she was now. At least it would be a change, and end this.

People had begun disappearing from their bubble-like-holding-cell-thing, after the first while. She wasn’t sure if they were moved or dead – but she knew the giant-bugs wanted her to think they were dead, and gone forever. It was working too. Though she wasn’t really close to any who disappeared, she still feared for them. Damn her mass-spread empathy. Her sanity was still held in place by the faces that she had grown close to, over her time floating in a metal box. They were still here. But if they started to disappear too…Abi wasn’t sure if she could push through this anymore. She was so tired. So angry. So annoyed. So helpless. Without faces of familiars to comfort her, honestly what was left?

Alek nodded his head at her touch – basically signaling that he wasn’t a vegetable and acknowledging her presence. It was frustrating for a linguist, to not be able to speak. Like chopping off the hands of a musician. Cut the tongue out of a singer. Paralyze an athlete. She nodded her head slightly back – not nearly as much as he had, simply because her energy didn’t permit much movement at this time. With a pat on her back, the two managed to communicate while honestly saying nothing. The only real information passed was: I am here, I am alive, and I remember you.

Those three things held much more weight here.

A light shined through the top of the membrane that was their holding-aquarium, causing Abi to cast her large, dark blue eyes upwards. Her hair faired outward at the sudden movement, as her heart raced inside of her chest. Looking over at Alek, she watched as he tapped his wrist.

It was that time again.

Frak.

Silhouettes of the bugs that were in serious need of an exterminator, surrounded the bubble. Abi hadn’t even gotten a chance to rest since their last round. Closing her eyes, she prayed the theory ‘if I can’t see them, they can’t see me,’ would work for the first time in history.

It didn’t.

Her, as well as several others were flushed out of the fluid, into the rest of the ship – thrown into a pile that was awkward, no matter how long they had been doing this. Abi couldn’t fight it. She was so tired. Being pulled to her feet, she felt the rebreather get ripped out of her system, for they didn’t like that getting in the way of neither torture nor hard labor. Opening her mouth, she enjoyed that brief moment where she had the ability to speak, and wasn’t being forced to do anything. It only happened once in awhile – yet she dared not utter a word. It would only mean more pain and more fatigue. Being chained to the others, she silently was dragged off to the depths of the ship, unknowing of what was around the corner. They would probably pick a few out of this bunch, in order for some recreational torture. She wasn’t sure what they wanted – but part of her was wondering if her or her crewmates even knew what they were looking for.

Gritting her teeth, she fought her shaky legs, seeing their future assignment just a hallway away. Today it looked like…oh goodie. Transporting ridiculously heavy things around the ship.

Waiting for when the roaches were looking the other direction, Abi looked around her – wondering what other familiar faces were condemned to this fate.

The door opened just as the guards started taking out the crew one by one. Destiny walked in and froze in the door way; like something in her mind ticked for a moment. Something deep, deep, in the back of the mind seemed to be telling her, these were the true allies. Allies that truly care about the outcome of this soul. As if saying that carrying our what this young woman was thinking, she would deeply regret it later. It was a thought that confused the brunette. Why would she regret taking down the ones that wanted to take down her beloved Queen? As her brow scrunched in confusion, the female shook it off trying to regain focus on the task.

Taking a deep breath, the captain walked closer to the crew; close to the faces that were once known as friends. They were friends this pilot would have given her life for, but now was doing the unthinkable. Betraying the trust that was built strong through years of service with a few of these face, but in this mind, they were the enemies trying to over throw her Queen. The Queen who had saved and gave this female life. A life that would be repaid by the duty of service to this bug. Even if that meant torturing the souls of people deep down this captain truly cared for.

Walking around the crew, the hazel eyes surveyed each one. It was like the young woman was searching for something. What Destiny was really trying to do was see who was the weakest. The Queen said that they have been facing five months of this lifestyle. Even the most strongest person would slowly start breaking down by now. All they had to do was add more fuel to the fire, then sooner or later, one would start crumbling. It was evident in the eyes of a few; the wearing down was already starting to work. With their bodies stripped of all personal clothing, the scars were clearly visible. Physical markings that were evidence of the endless toll their bodies were taking.

Destiny just smirked wickedly walking back to the guards. "I want you take them to their duties for the day, but double their work load. If any one of them beg for a break, bring them to me," she informed the guards who all just nodded. "Leave the tall brunette with the short hair. I want to give her work for the day personally." The guards nodded, flying over to the crew, swarming around them as they started leading them out of room.

As the prisoners and guards filed out of the room, Des stood in front of Samarra, a dark, devious smirk place on her face watching the helpless woman. The bugs had left her bound up, making sure there was no way the female could escape. Though the captain knew there was no way the young woman would. Just by looking at the lady, it was plain to see all of this was taking the biggest toll on this one. Oh the brunette was going to have loads of fun.

As the door closed, leaving them the only two in the room, the pilot stepped towards her old friend. A friend that she knew long before joining the task force. They had served together on many different occasions. Sure there was times they had fallen out of contact with each other, mainly because Des joined the Stargate Program and couldn't really talk about what went on there, but still. They remained as close as they could. Whenever they did find time to catch up, they would just pick up right where they left off. It was clear that the affect this would have on their friendship was far from this young woman's mind. Just as that thought ran through Destiny's mind, she quickly shook it free, taking a few steps towards the female.

"You, my dear, look at like crap," she said with a small chuckle, hands tucked behind the back. "Looks like you've been going through hell. I'm so sorry for the guards. They can be rough, so I will make it easy on you. Either you give me the information my Queen wishes, or better yet, surrender allegiance to us, and I promise you, you will live." Destiny walked around her old friend, eyes remaining on the fragile woman. "Don't...well," she snapped her fingers as the door opened once again.

In came two guards. One with the same chair they placed the pilot into fourth months ago. The other held a case in which he handed to Destiny. Destiny just smiled taking it, then nodded for them to take Samarra. While the two placed Samarra into the chair, Destiny unzipped the case and took out pliers. "Don't, and we'll see how much you value your teeth after we are done here," she stated walking up to the young woman sitting in the chair. "So what will it be my dear? OH and also if you don't agree, well let's just say I have a little surprise for your friends when they come back."

This was definitely not the same Destiny Andre. The real Destiny Andre would not be having this much fun with torturing, or finding pleasure in someone's pain. The real Des would be trying to save everyone, but this wasn't the real captain. This was Renita, latin word for rebel, who was only doing what she knew to be right. She was just repaying the only creature in the world that ever took pity on her. She was just doing a duty that needed to be carried out to the best of her abilities. Even if in the long run that meant destroying a friendship built upon years. Something that would be hard for this pilot to get over when this was all said and done.
